A new addition to the growing line of restaurants in Old Metairie will be a household name from its New Orleans locations.
Felipe’s Taqueria is building a new restaurant on Metairie Rd. 2004, its first expansion in Jefferson Parish.
This location will be new construction, on a lot that is across the street from a number of shops that include numerous restaurants including upscale/casual Mexican restaurant Zocalo and Oscar’s, and a corner to Sal’s Sno-Ball Stand.
It will be a 3,000 square foot restaurant with a mix of indoor and outdoor dining areas and a landscaped terrace. The opening is planned for the end of 2023.

Felipe’s operates as a hybrid of the fast-casual restaurant model, with a counter for quick-order tacos, burritos, nachos, and plates, and a full bar stocked with fresh cocktails.
The first Felipe’s in New Orleans opened in late 2006 near Tulane and Loyola Universities. In 2009, it expanded with Felipe’s French Quarter Edition, rehabilitating a former Hooter location. The Mid-City location debuted in 2013 as part of a major commercial development along North Carrollton Avenue. The brand also has other locations in other states.
The Metairie location will join a stretch of Metairie Road which has seen many new restaurants spring up in recent years.
