Registration for Nigeria’s biggest amateur football tournament is now closed – the fun is yet to come.

“You can’t imagine our feelings when, on June 22, the last day of registration, we realized that we had received more than 450 applications! A year ago, there were just over 160, and then it seemed like a lot,” these words of the 1xCup 2025 organizing committee representative will remain relevant until 1xCup 2026.
Four squads automatically qualified for the group stage as the best at 1xCup 2024. These are FC BETHEL Academy, Community Gunners FC, Emaljus FC, and Emiloju FC.
Among the teams selected to participate in the qualification, you will find academies, street squads, and regional clubs.
1xCup 2025 is about diversity, providing opportunities to showcase talents, and uniting the football community.
Some of the young athletes will earn a share of the prize pool and go to Afcon in Morocco in December with Bi Benard!

Believe me, it was difficult for the organizers to reject hundreds of applications during the registration process. However, these participants were not bad — some were simply better. Thank you to everyone who showed interest in the tournament!
