On May 21, Lifetime announced a collaboration with the Chrisley family: a docuseries titled The Untitled Chrisleys Project. The series was expected to focus on the younger generation of the Chrisleys because Todd and Julie were both serving time in prison for bank fraud and tax evasion; however, a lot has changed since this announcement.

The series was expected to focus on Chase Chrisley, Savannah Chrisley, Grayson Chrisley, Chloe Chrisley, and Nanny Faye Chrisley. At the same time, Todd and Julie would spend 12 years in prison and 16 months on probation, and seven years in prison, followed by 16 months of probation, respectively. On May 27, it was announced that they had received a presidential pardon from President Donald Trump. The next day, Todd was released.
When Did Todd And Julie Chrisley Get A Pardon?
When Todd and Julie were behind bars, their daughter Savannah had to take on a lot more responsibilities. In addition to caring for her younger siblings, she was also “fighting tirelessly for a Presidential pardon to free her parents,” a synopsis for the show stated, per People.
This became a reality earlier this week. The pardon was sought by alleging “serious misconduct by the government, including an illegal raid, reliance on tainted evidence and a trial that featured false testimony from a key government witness,” CBS News reports.

But what does this mean for their new reality TV show? And does this mean that Todd and Julie will now be in front of the cameras again? Comments since Todd’s release certainly seem to suggest this. “You will see the first time he and Mom see each other for the first time,” Savannah said, per CBS News.
Todd also commented on what it felt like being released, saying, “I woke up the first morning, and I was looking around and like, ‘This is really real. I’m home. So I was grateful for our family to be all back in the same room, to be together, to share a meal together, to pray together, and to know that we’re still in the fight together.”
What Does The Pardon Mean For The Chrisley Family’s Docuseries?
It has been announced that the Chrisley family will star in a 10-episode spinoff, which Bunim/Murray Productions will produce. “The show is still filming and will continue to, though the family’s situation is evolving rapidly,” a source told People.

The source also commented on how the docuseries will change direction. “It’s similar to Wendy Williams. When filming began on her doc, they thought they were going to do one kind of show and then everything changed,” the source shared.
