This Is Why A Cast Shakeup Is Needed For Season 10 of Summer House

Summer House is, without a doubt, one of Bravo’s most successful shows. The reality TV series has been running for nine seasons and has launched some incredible Bravo moments. Stars like Lindsay Hubbard and Kyle Cooke have been a part of the series since Season 1 and have been integral members of the cast.

Over the years, the series added regulars like Paige DeSorbo and Ciara Miller, and added new faces to spice up the house. However, if there’s anything that the ninth season has shown fans, it’s that Bravo needs to do two things: launch a spinoff and add new cast members.

The Summer House Cast Has Moved On To Bigger Things

There comes a time in all reality TV shows where the talent becomes bigger than the series. Bravo fans saw it with Vanderpump Rules when the cast became too famous to work at Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant, SUR. Because of this, each cast member went on to launch their own careers outside the show.

The cast members of Summer House are on a similar trajectory, which is why a cast shakeup and a spinoff need to happen.

  • Paige DeSorbo has become a mega influencer, doing commercials and brand deals with companies like TRESemmé, Dunkin’ Donuts, and DSW. She’s also been on other reality TV shows like Southern Charm and Winter House.
  • Kyle Cooke launched his line of sparkling hard drinks, Loverboy, with the help of his wife, Amanda Batula. According to a 2023 article by Forbes, Loverboy had $38 million in sales. As of 2024, Kyle has now ventured into DJing.
  • Although Amanda still works with Loverboy, she ventured into a passion project called Amanda Batula Swim — a line of bathing suits targeted for large chests.
  • Ciara Miller has always been a nurse and a model while on Summer House, but she has created a bigger name for herself and was on Season 3 of Peacock’s Emmy-winning show, The Traitors.
  • Once Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard called off their engagement, Carl found his true passion in non-alcoholic beverages. He’s now on the cusp of opening his own bar that doesn’t serve alcohol, Soft Bar.
  • Lindsay has always done work in public relations, but now that she’s a new mom, her priorities have changed, and she’s focusing on influencing. The Bravo fanverse loves her so much that she was in talks of joining the new Real Housewives of New York until Andy Cohen shut down the rumor, per Reality Tea.

While successful in their new business ventures, fans still love to watch the group’s dynamic on Summer House. However, it may be time for a cast shake-up.

Over the years, Bravo has sprinkled in new faces, but the core group is so tight-knit that it’s hard for these new cast members to fully merge and become united.

Don’t mess with Lindsay Hubbard.

West Wilson and Jesse Solomon (Seasons 8 and 9, respectively) have been two additions that have scored the highest with audiences. It would be smart to center new cast members around their friendship.

The Season 9 Finale Felt Like The Beginning Of A Spinoff In The Making

Although Season 9 of Summer House primarily focused on Jesse Solomon and Lexi Wood’s relationship, there’s so much more to the new cast that should have been dissected.

  • Imrul Hassan was new to Season 9 and only appeared in the first couple of episodes, which primarily focused on his sexual escapades. However, there’s more to Imrul than just his one-night stands.
  • Gabby Prescod has been a main cast member since Season 7, and fans have barely scratched the surface in getting to know her outside of the house. Cameras rarely follow her around New York City like they do with Lindsay Hubbard and Paige DeSorbo.
  • Lexi Wood is a small celebrity in her own right, being linked to Brooklyn Beckham and Drake. Seeing how close she is with her family, it would be wise to keep her on for another season to explore her life outside of dating Jesse.
  • West Wilson’s journalistic career has skyrocketed since joining Summer House. Keeping him and Jesse on as core members of the group would be wise, considering how many fans like them.

Paige DeSorbo and Hannah Berner got all giggly reminiscing about a psychic experience on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

With a solid group of newer cast members with fresh stories and backgrounds, Bravo should keep them on as Summer House cast members and start a spinoff around Paige DeSorbo, Amanda Batula, Lindsay Hubbard, and Ciara Miller.

The four women have reached a great point in their friendship where there’s no more animosity, especially between Paige and Lindsay. In fact, the last part of the Season 9 finale felt like a test run of a spinoff.

In the scene, Paige and Amanda stopped by Lindsay’s apartment to meet her newborn, Gemma Kufe. The three laughed about their friendship and motherhood, which was a refreshing take compared to the partying that viewers are used to seeing on Summer House.

Paige then dove into the ins and outs of her breakup with Southern Charm’s Craig Conover. The mutual respect, venting, and listening among the ladies was reminiscent of Sex and the City’s early days or scenes from The Real Housewives. The vibe was different from Summer House’s, proving that the potential for a spinoff featuring the three women (and Ciara) could be high.

Without news on Season 10, and with the core cast being ultra-busy doing other gigs, it’s a matter of time before Bravo breaks the ice on the direction they’re leaning towards with the show’s popularity.
