Nollywood actress Aisha Lawal has reacted to allegations made against her by a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
Tensions have been high within the Lagos chapter of the NURTW after a viral video featured union leader Istijabah making serious accusations against NURTW boss Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, and actress Aisha Lawal.
In the video, Istijabah claimed that MC Oluomo had been spending the union’s money on Nollywood actresses. He alleged that while loyal union members were struggling financially, Oluomo was using funds to impress female celebrities.
Among the names mentioned was Aisha Lawal. According to Istijabah, the actress is in possession of a Toyota Venza allegedly purchased during one of the union’s extravagant spending sprees.
“Aisha Lawal benefited from a Venza I worked hard to pay for, while MC Oluomo kept on pressuring us into debt to impress his Nollywood ladies,” he said in Yoruba.
He added: “If not that I’ve forgotten about it, I would have collected my car. The other day, I saw her posting that car smiling. I was like ah-ah, this life!”
In a video posted on her TikTok page, Aisha Lawal addressed the allegations, saying:
“I’ve never owned a Venza in my life. I have never driven a Venza before. I studied Law for 7 years in a private university. Best believe I will definitely file a lawsuit against Istijabah.”
Bragging about her current status, she said:
“Venza is even smaller to the present level of the kind of car I’m driving. I don’t even like Venza.”
She concluded by distancing herself from MC Oluomo:
“I don’t have a strong relationship with MC Oluomo for him to give me a Venza as birthday gift.”
