Security Forces Apprehend Chinese National, Terrorist Supporters in Northeast Operations

Nigerian military personnel from Operation HADIN KAI have detained six suspects during counterterrorism operations in Borno and Yobe states, including five terrorist logistics suppliers and a Chinese national posing as a mining operator.

Defence spokesperson Major General Markus Kangye revealed the arrests during his weekly operational briefing, confirming the suspects were captured during coordinated raids across Kukawa and Ngala LGAs (Borno State) , Geidam LGA in Yobe State, Recovered a vehicle and motorcycle, Multiple mobile phones, a Chinese international passport and ₦10,000 in cash

“The Chinese national is currently undergoing interrogation,” stated General Kangye. “While all detainees deny involvement, we’re investigating their presence in active combat zones during military operations.”

The Defence spokesperson emphasized the ongoing investigation will establish the suspect’s original purpose in the area, exact circumstances of his arrest and Possible connections to terrorist networks

In related counterterrorism actions from June 6-9, troops responding to intelligence in Gwoza, Abadam (Borno), and Nangere (Yobe) eliminated several terrorists and successfully rescued three abduction victims. The operations also yielded recovered weapons and ammunition.

These developments underscore the military’s sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist supply chains and neutralize threats across Nigeria’s northeast region.
