Smokey Robinson Now Under Criminal Investigation Following R*pe Allegations

Smokey Robinson is now being investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department after four former employees accused him of rape and sexual assault.

“The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau is actively investigating criminal allegations involving William Robinson aka ‘Smokey Robinson.’ The investigation is in the early stages, and we have no further comment,” a representative for the LASD said in a statement.

The accusers, four Hispanic women identified as Jane Does 1 through 4, allege that Robinson abused them over 18 years, from 2006 to 2024, at his homes in California and Las Vegas.

They claim he forced them into unwanted sexual encounters, often without protection. At the same time, his wife, Frances Robinson, fostered a hostile work environment by hurling racial slurs and denying them basic labor rights like rest breaks. The women claim that Frances knew about her husband’s behavior but chose to turn a blind eye.

“We are aware that a police report has now been filed by the Plaintiffs in the civil lawsuit. It is clear to us what is happening here. Plaintiffs filed a police report only after they filed a $50 million lawsuit,” Robinson’s attorney, Christopher Frost, said in response to the investigation.  “This means only that the police are now required to investigate. We welcome that investigation, which involves Plaintiffs who continue to hide their identities, because exposure to the truth is a powerful thing.”

Frost says he believes the investigation will clear his celebrity client.
