Rod Wave’s attorney has responded to claims that his client was arrested for allegedly shooting the vehicle of his girlfriend, Mini Barbie, 14 times last week.
“Rod Green was the target of a burglary and did nothing wrong,” Drew Findling said in a statement. “These charges are baseless and will be fully contested in court.”
Rod Wave was arrested on Tuesday in Fulton County, Georgia, where he was slapped with a slew of serious charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during a felony, pointing a gun at another person, criminal damage to property, reckless conduct, and tampering with evidence.
Rumors quickly circulated online that the St. Petersburg native may have fired up to 14 shots at a vehicle belonging to his girlfriend, Mini Barbie.
Rod Wave, whose real name is Rodarius Marcell Green, has had multiple run-ins with the law. In 2022, he was arrested in his Florida hometown on a felony charge of battery by strangulation, though the case was ultimately dropped.
In 2024, he faced legal trouble again in Manatee County, Florida, this time under suspicion of weapons possession connected to a gang-related shooting that injured four people. However, no formal charges were filed in that incident either.
