Nigerian artist Rema, whose real name is Divine Okubor, took a moment during his performance at Madison Square Garden in New York to honor music mogul Michael Collins Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy, in front of a captivated audience.
As the music industry continues to recognize influential figures who deserve appreciation for their contributions, Rema made sure that Don Jazzy, a well-known figure in Nigeria, received the recognition he deserves on an international stage.
A video of the heartfelt tribute circulated on social media, capturing the moment Don Jazzy joined Rema on stage. When Don Jazzy attempted to leave, Rema called for him to stay, before addressing the massive crowd, highlighting the producer’s immense influence.
The 24-year-old singer took the opportunity to express his gratitude, stating that Don Jazzy’s impact on the music industry and on individuals’ careers has been monumental, even though much of it goes unsung.
