The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State chapter, has successfully uncovered an illegal artisanal refinery and petrol station at Y-Junction, Nkwelle Ezunaka in Oyi Local Government Area. The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and Navy.
According to the Head of Media and Tactical NSCDC, Anambra State Command, Okadigbo Edwin, the raid was conducted on Saturday following credible intelligence of suspected illegal dealings in petroleum products within the area. During the operation, one suspect was arrested while others fled the scene.
A quantity of petroleum products was intercepted and seized during the raid. The NSCDC, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and Navy, continues to crack down on illegal activities in the state.
The successful operation highlights the commitment of the security agencies to combating illegal activities and ensuring the safety of citizens. The NSCDC and its partners will continue to work together to prevent such activities and protect the state’s resources.
