Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has firmly addressed a social media user who tried to mock her by dredging up her past relationship with late gospel singer Sammie Okposo.
The troll had posted a screenshot of an old interview where Kate discussed experiencing physical abuse during her relationship with Sammie. The two were reportedly together in the early 2000s for about three to four years. At the time, many speculated they might marry, but the relationship eventually ended and both went their separate ways.
In a mocking tweet, the user wrote:
“Aunty Kate, I heard someone say that you’re just a bitter old ‘agbaya’ woman because you’ve been let down by men too many times and ended up ‘husbandless’. Is that true?”
Kate responded with grace and defiance, acknowledging her past while highlighting her growth:
“Awwww, I am still here, though. These things happen, and I am better not bitter.”
She also fired back with a sharp remark about the troll’s family:
“Can’t say the same for the females in your family. I saw one at Farmcity the other night. I hope the pay she brought home fed the family for the night, though. I am good, to be honest. Next…..”
Sammie Okposo, famous for gospel hits like Wellu Wellu, passed away in his sleep on November 25, 2022, at the age of 51. His sudden death came just months after he admitted to infidelity, a revelation that stunned fans and colleagues alike.
