Senator Ede Dafinone, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has welcomed the party’s endorsement of President Bola Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.
He described the move as timely and a commendable step in reinforcing the party’s unity and direction.
The endorsement was unanimously adopted by APC leaders during the party’s National Summit on the Renewed Hope Agenda, held Thursday at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Speaking on the sidelines of the summit, Dafinone praised the party’s leadership for acting decisively to recognize President Tinubu’s achievements over the past two years.
He said the endorsement would help the party avoid divisive pre-election contests and focus on delivering good governance.
“We are building a future rooted in accountability, growth, and grassroots empowerment. Through the Renewed Hope Agenda, Mr. President has set us on the path to achieving these goals,” Dafinone stated.
He acknowledged the tough economic reforms implemented by the Tinubu administration, particularly the removal of fuel subsidies and currency adjustments, noting that early signs of recovery in the Nigerian economy are evident.
“These critical decisions are beginning to yield positive outcomes and are central to repositioning our economy for long-term strength and stability,” he added.
According to Dafinone, the early endorsement reflects a cohesive and forward-thinking APC, especially under the guidance of National Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.
“While other political parties grapple with internal crises, defections, and leadership struggles, the APC is consolidating its strength at both national and state levels. We’re witnessing this progress even in Delta State under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori,” Dafinone noted.
He expressed confidence that the APC is well-positioned for a resounding victory across the country in 2027.
