What Fans Can Expect On The First-Ever Love Island Docuseries: Love Island Beyond The Villa

Love Island Season 6 was Peacock’s most-watched original reality TV show during the summer of 2024. The series follows a group of singles living together in a luxury villa, all hoping to find love. But with unexpected twists and turns along the way, relationships are constantly put to the test. Those who resist temptation and stay coupled up have a shot at winning a cash prize.

Season 6 had a standout, unforgettable cast, including Leah Kateb, Serena Page, and JaNa Craig—better known as the “Powerful Girls” (aka PPG)—who remain close friends to this day. All three women found love in the villa: Leah is dating Miguel Harichi, JaNa is still going strong with Kenny Rodriguez, and Serena and Kordell Beckham are together after winning the season.

These couples, along with other fan favorites and BFFs Kaylor Martin and Olivia Walker, will be back on our screens when Peacock premieres the Love Island spinoff, Love Island: Beyond the Villa. The brand-new series will give fans a glimpse into what life is like for these former islanders after the show.

The very memorable cast of Love Island Season 6 are back in a brand-new docuseries that will air this summer called Love Island: Beyond the Villa. Fan-favorites like the PPG’s Leah, JaNa, and Serena are reportedly the main stars in this new show concept as fans will get a closer look into their lives post-show.

According to a press release for Love Island: Beyond the Villa, fans can expect to see the former Season 6 cast navigating relationships, friendships, and their careers after finding immense fame after starring on the show. It will all take place in Los Angeles, California.

“Follow everyone’s favorite season 6 Islanders around Los Angeles as they navigate new careers, evolving friendships, newfound fame and complex relationships outside of the Love Island villa.”

The show will focus on Leah, JaNa, and Serena’s tight-knit friendship as well as their love lives. As fans may recall, each of these ladies found love in the villa, proving that the show can, in fact, lead to lasting connections. Leah continues to date Miguel despite her rocky start on the show with snake wrangler Rob. JaNa will also share insight on her relationship with Kenny. However, the cast lineup does not include Serena’s boyfriend, Kordell.

Additionally, fans will also get to see how both Kaylor Martin and Olivia Walker have moved on from the show. Kaylor got her heart broken by Aaron Evans, despite the two being coupled up in the season for the majority of the time. Meanwhile, Australian native Olivia was coupled up with several of the male islanders, but was ultimately dumped when she could not find a match. After the show, both Kaylor and Olivia maintained a strong friendship.

Other islanders that will also be making an appearance on the show include Connor Newsum, who did not find love in the villa, and Kendall Washington, who came in fourth place when he coupled up with Nicole Jacky. However, they split after the Season 6 reunion.

Season 6’s Rob Rausch And Kordell Beckham Are Missing From The New Spinoff

Fans were let down when they did not see Kordell or Rob in the main cast lineup when Peacock announced the new docuseries.

People reported that Kordell, who won Season 6 with Serena, will make sporadic appearances on the show and will “still be on hand supporting his girlfriend and his fellow Islanders.” In fact, the outlet announced that Kordell is not a main cast member because he is set to star in a scripted series “that will conflict with the filming of Beyond the Villa.”

According to Deadline, Serena answered a few fan questions on SnapChat after the announcement of the new spinoff. When asked about Kordell’s absence, she shared:

“He’s gunna be in it with me!!! they just couldn’t announce him as part of the main cast [because] my baby booked another role.”

Fans had strongly believed that Kordell is set to star in the upcoming fourth season of The Traitors or even Season 34 of Dancing With the Stars. But, Serena debunked these theories since they aren’t scripted television shows. “No, it’s a scripted show,” she shared in another SnapChat. “He in his acting bagg [sic].”

As for Rob, there is not much information out there as to why he did not want to participate in the docuseries. Rob currently resides in Alabama and not in Los Angeles. According to a TikTok by @Zachary Reality, Rob had allegedly shared that he would never participate in another Love Island show. But, the TikToker added that fans may see Rob pop up on the spinoff in some capacity along with other Season 6 islanders who are not main cast members, like Leah, JaNa, and Serena.

However, Serena insisted that wouldn’t happen in their spinoff.

“It’s just to show u guys what we’re up to really. I wouldn’t be a part of anything that would put my relationship or friendships at risk,” Serena said.

Prior to the spinoff announcement, Simon Thomas, Love Island USA’s executive producer, teased that fans would soon see PPG back on their screens.

“There are such a great group of girls, period. Fantastic. But JaNa, Serena and Leah — one in a million kind of friendship [on the show],” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “So the three of them, yeah, I hope we see them again.”
