Travis Scott has opened up about his relationship with Kanye West in an interview published this week by Complex.
Scott was one of the many artists Ye has tweeted about on X, formerly Twitter. According to the publication, the interview took place back in February, way before Ye’s recent series of inflammatory social media posts.
“That’s my kids’ uncle,” Scott said about Ye. “That guy took me in when I was young, when I was like 19. He taught me a lot about music. And not even just ‘taught’ me, but he allowed me to experience the creation of music. To create music with him, it’s what helped me grow, making a lot of beats. Whether it’s writing and collabing on music and film or clothes or whatever the f–k it is, just constantly learning.”
Scott unfollowed Ye in February following his anti-semitic tweets. Scott was previously signed to Ye’s G.O.O.D. Music and even appeared on his album “Vultures 1.”
