President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the redeployment of four Permanent Secretaries as part of efforts to streamline operations within the Federal Civil Service and ensure continuity in leadership across key ministries.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by Eno Olotu, Director of Information and Public Relations, the changes are aimed at strengthening service delivery and aligning civil service functions with the priorities of the current administration.
Dr. Mary Ada Ogbe has been redeployed from the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development to the Ministry of Regional Development, where she is expected to understudy the outgoing Permanent Secretary, who retires on May 7, 2025.
Faruk Yusuf Yabo will move from the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy to the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.
Dr. Emeka Vitalis Obi, previously with the Ministry of Budget and Economic Development, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources. Mr. Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam will transfer from the Special Duties Office of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation to the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
The statement noted that the reassignment reflects a continuing effort to enhance operational efficiency, foster innovation, and promote effective service delivery in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration.
Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, described the redeployments as part of routine administrative processes aimed at rejuvenating the civil service through the strategic placement of senior personnel.
She called on the newly assigned officials to apply their experience in managing key responsibilities and ensuring smooth transitions in their new ministries.
“All handover and taking-over processes are to be concluded on or before May 2, 2025,” the directive stated.
The Federal Government reiterated its commitment to building a professional and efficient civil service structure that supports national development goals.
