The Valley Season 2: Where We Last Left Off Leading Up To The New Season

Bravo’s The Valley is returning for a brand-new Season 2 and promises to be a roller coaster of emotions for all parties involved. The series is a spinoff to Vanderpump Rules and follows a group of friends, couples, and recent exes who reside in California’s San Fernando Valley while navigating the highs and lows of adulthood.

Every single cast member from Season 1 is returning, including Brittany Cartwright, Jax Taylor, Kristen Doute, Luke Broderick, Danny Booko and Nia Booko, Jason Caperna and Janet Caperna, Jesse Lally, Michelle Saniei, Jasmine Goode, and Zack Wickham. In addition, Season 2 welcomes Michelle’s new love interest, Aaron Nosler, and Jasmine and Zack’s significant others, Melissa Carelli and Benji Quach.

Before The Valley Season 2 premieres on April 15 on Bravo, here’s where the reality TV stars left off at the end of Season 1.

The Explosive Season 1 Finale of The Valley Left Two Relationships in Ruins

The Valley Season 2 is right around the corner, and it’s certain to pick up right where Season 1 left off. The most important event that took place at the end of the first season was the fallout between both couples, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright and Jesse Lally and Michelle Lalley, who now goes by Michelle Saniei in Season 2.

The ending of Season 1 showed the group heading to the grand opening of Jax’s Studio City bar, and later, the cameras picked back up six months later for an update. Michelle and Jesse are now separated, and the former goes to Jesse’s old house to pick up their daughter and some toys. Michelle is completely over their relationship and is ready to move on.

After their split, Michelle shared in a confessional, “I finally hit that point where I knew, ‘I’m done and I want to move on and I want to get divorced and start my own life. There’s no question that I made the right choice.” The couple were married for five years before Michelle asked Jesse for a divorce right after filming wrapped on Season 1 in October 2023.

The Season 1 finale also sees Brittany packing a suitcase to live in an Airbnb after deciding to separate from Jax. She asks Jax what he’s done to change his behavior, and he doesn’t give her an answer. We learn that he lied about seeking therapy for his mental health and substance abuse issues and even claimed to TMZ cameras that he and Brittany were still together.

In August 2024, Brittany shared in an episode of her When Reality Hits podcast that she needed to get herself “out of a toxic relationship and ultimately see my worth.” Brittany filed for divorce from Jax that same month after five years of marriage and has full custody of their son, Cruz.

Meanwhile, the Season 1 ending also saw Janet Caperna get into a heated confrontation with Zack Wickham, after not inviting him to Big Bear for her babymoon. Their relationship did not end on good terms with Jason even stepping in to confront Zack. Additionally, Kristen had her own falling out with her friends, including Michelle, Jesse, and Janet.

Here’s What Fans Can Expect In Season 2 Of The Valley

Fans have already seen much of Brittany and Jax’s marriage fallout in the press, but Season 2 will show an even deeper look into their marriage breakdown, including a man coming to Jax’s home to serve him paperwork. Brittany is then seen stating, “I already told him, filing, restraining order, and custody.”

According to Bravo’s bio of Brittany this season, fans will also get to see how she navigates her new single life and how she will “rediscover herself.”

“Brittany Cartwright hopes to rediscover herself amidst her separation from Jax while also resisting the urge to forgive and forget Jax’s behavior once again. As she adjusts to being a single mother and tries to reform her own identity, Brittany works on prioritizing herself. While Jax is away in the mental health facility, she leans on the group now more than ever. When her friendships with Zack and Kristen are put to the test, Brittany finally reaches her breaking point.”

As for Jax, the trailer sees him seeking professional help for his mental health and substance abuse issues. His Bravo bio reads:

“After 10 years of marriage, Jax Taylor is at an emotional crossroads as he deals with his separation from Brittany. Deciding to seek the professional help his loved ones encourage him to get, Jax checks himself into a mental health facility and tries to work on his anger.”

In March, Jax admitted on the Hot Mic podcast that he had struggled with substance abuse since the age of 23. However, he has since prioritized getting sober for the sake of his son.

Fans will also see Kristen and Luke moving forward with the next steps in their relationship. They got engaged and are trying for a baby.

The Season 2 trailer sees Michelle and Jesse living totally different lives after their separation, including Michelle now dating Aaron Nosler. However, they still intermingle, with Jesse accusing his former wife of “sleeping with a billionaire for $1,500.” An intense argument ensues between the exes with Jesse calling her a “hooker” and Michelle shouting, “I’m the mother of your f****** child.”

The trailer depicts cracks in Jason and Janet’s marriage this season. They are now first-time parents, but Kristen is seen spreading a rumor that Jason “takes his wedding ring off” when he goes out. Further, Nia and Danny, who are seen looking for a bigger home for their large family, also appear to show signs of marital struggles.

Fans will also be happy to see both Jasmine and Zack getting much more screen time this season. Both stars are introducing their significant others in Season 2. Jasmine’s Bravo bio reads:

“Jasmine Goode is focusing on the positive as she takes the next step in her relationship with Melissa Carelli. While Jasmine might have romance and marriage on her mind, she still finds herself mixed in the drama when accused of spreading rumors about Jason. Lingering resentments arise with Danny following an incident on Halloween. “

Zack’s bio for the new season states:

“A loyal friend as ever, Zack Wickham is standing by Brittany during her separation from Jax and also by Kristen as she butts heads with Janet. As his relationship with Benji Quach gets more serious, Zack’s attempt to prioritize self-growth over his usual mudslinging is challenged within the group.”

The Season 2 trailer wraps up with the entire cast on a boat and plenty of drama unfolding.

These Vanderpump Rules Alums Are Making Appearances In The New Season

Fans of Vanderpump Rules will also want to tune in to Season 2, as they’ll get to see some of their favorite alums — like Scheana Shay, her husband, Brock Davies, Lala Kent, and Tom Schwartz.

The VPR alums will not be joining Season 2 as main cast members, but as friends. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, producer Alex Baskin shared, “[The Valley] cast is pretty full right now. I would imagine you’ll continue to see crossovers like you have, but that cast is bursting at the seams.”

He continued, “It’s not like we’re in need of additional cast members. Between Jax and Brittany, Jesse and Michelle, and a whole bunch of other developments, we really have a great focus for that show and we’re excited about running that back because, God knows, if we had cameras up right now there would be a ton to cover. And there will be when we do.”

While fans won’t get much of Scheana, Lala and Tom, they do insert themselves into the drama of these San Fernando Valley residents. In the Season 2 trailer, Lala is seen confronting Jesse and seemingly defending his former wife, Michelle.

“I think you’re toxic, I think you’re a narcissist, and I’m happy I don’t have to deal with you,” Lala tells Jesse at a party. Scheana is also seen attending the same party. In another scene, Tom is seen consoling Jax, who agrees with the bar owner when he states, “I’m a good father, terrible husband.”

The Valley Season 2 premieres Tuesday, April 15 at 9/8c on Bravo. Stream episodes the next day on Peacock.
