Popular Nigerian rapper, Chibuzor Azubike Nelson, widely known as Phyno, has responded strongly to claims suggesting he sold a N10 billion property in Lagos due to ethnic tensions.
The controversy began when a journalist, under the handle JustSociety4All, alleged in a now-deleted tweet that the artist had sold his estate to a Libyan businessman. The tweet further claimed that Phyno regretted investing in Lagos—described in the post as “Yoruba land”—citing perceived hostility toward the Igbo community.
According to the controversial tweet, Phyno allegedly said the last general election revealed deep-rooted tribal animosity, which influenced his decision to relocate the estate to Enugu for safety and cultural solidarity.
However, Phyno promptly debunked the story, labeling it completely false. In a sharp rebuttal posted online, he condemned the report and questioned the motive behind spreading such misinformation.
“You are a fool for cooking up this type of lie!!! Where are you heading with this? Anwu nta,” he wrote.
The artist made it clear that the claims were baseless and urged the public not to be misled by fabricated narratives.
