Grammy-nominated Nigerian music icon David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared that he personally pays the salaries of more than 70 employees working across his international businesses.
Speaking in a recent interview on Ride Along with Darryl Vega TV, the global superstar opened up about the extensive reach of his operations, which span both local and international markets.
“I have staff in Nigeria and abroad. Their salaries are significant. I pay between 70 to 80 people,” the 32-year-old artist explained.
Davido, who rose to fame in 2012 with the hit track “Dami Duro” from his debut album Omo Baba Olowo, recently dropped his fifth studio album titled 5ive. The new project follows his previous works, including A Good Time (2019), A Better Time (2020), and Timeless (2023).
In a statement last December, Davido described 5ive as a deeply personal project. “This album is my journey, my truth, and a reflection of my growth,” he shared.
Beyond his career as a performer, Davido is the founder of DMW (Davido Music Worldwide), a record label launched in April 2016. DMW has been home to several notable Nigerian artists including Mayorkun, Peruzzi, Dremo, DJ Ecool, B-Red, Logos Olori, May D, and Moravey.
With numerous accolades under his belt, Davido continues to be a powerhouse in African music and a major influence on the global stage.
