A clergyman, Apostle Olatunde Adekunle Babatunde, has thrown his weight behind Pastor David Favour Love, the husband of Shimite Bello, who was accused of being behind her demise.
Shimite, the Special Adviser to Delta State Governor on Trade and Export, passed away on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Asaba, after she was allegedly found foaming at the mouth.
Family members alleged that Shimite’s husband had isolated her from loved ones and tightly controlled her movements.
“Since he came into her life, he cut everyone off. Her brother couldn’t even visit. He wouldn’t let her go to the office. He was always trailing her. Even the name on all her properties in Abuja and elsewhere was changed to his name. We believe she was manipulated—hypnotised even,” a family source told Sahara Reporters.
However, in a Facebook post on Wednesday, April 23, Apostle Babatunde said that Shimite’s family never liked David because they couldn’t handle the fact that she loved him above family members or friends.
According to Babatunde, Shimite’s husband used to live in one of his properties in Ilorin for free.
He also debunked the claims that David forced Shimite to change the name on all her properties to his own.
“I know that fake and bad news travels faster than good news and I also know that we’re good at believing lies over truth, because we judge situations by emotions and not by facts,” the Apostle wrote.

The wife’s family never liked him because the woman loves the man above any family or friends which they weren’t cool with at all.
No single house help anywhere called anyone, there was no domestic violence anywhere, it was true the woman vomited in a container which led to taking her to the hospital…. It was the husband that raised alarm and not any family anywhere

Police never arrested him, they only rescued him from the hospital because of the people that gathered against him for his own safety
As I am talking to you now, the husband said the family carried their daughter and took her away to an unknown destination and the police already intervened on the matter
The pharmacist and the nurse that treated her all through before her demise came to the station on their own to tell the police what has been happening before now which led to her sudden natural death
These was a natural d3ath that some people took advantage of to close the man out of the family
The man doesn’t have any access to her property talk more of forcing her to change every document
