It was a star-studded night as a host of celebrities graced the 17th edition of The Headies Awards.
The Award ceremony, Nigeria’s most prestigious music award show, was held at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos on Sunday, April 27th, 2025.

One of the most notable attendees at the ceremony was the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Also in attendance were Davido, Kcee and E-Money, Chioma Good Hair, Nancy Isime, Priscilla Ojo and Juma Jux, Liquorose, Kunle Remi, Very Dark Man, Annie Idibia, Regina Daniels, Bambam, Kiekie, Cubana Chief Priest, White Money and a host of others.

Last year, the value and worth of Headies award doubled the downplay of Nigerian artists at the Grammys Award.
Refreshing your memory, there was an outrage on social media as no Nigerian artist won any award at the 2024 Grammys. Burna Boy who scored 4 nominations lost them all to his rivals. Similarly, Davido lost his 3 Grammy nomination. Asake, Ayra Starr, and Olamide also lost theeir awards
Reacting to their loss, Headies had quoted a tweet saying that the Headies should become the go-to award for Nigerians.
Actress Nkechi Blessing averred that Nigerians and Nigerian artists should start appreciating the award ceremony because they now know their worth. She expressed hope that a time would come when Jay Z would fly to Eko Hotel to receive a Headies award.
Veteran actor Osita Iheme penned an open letter to the organisers of the Headies Awards about the importance of bringing back the award. He apologised for the artists who no longer respect the awards by coveting an international prize.
