Actor Haley Joel Osment Arrested & Charged With Cocaine Possession, Public Intoxication

Haley Joel Osment, best known for his role in the 1999 flick The Sixth Sense, was arrested and charged with cocaine possession and public intoxication.

The incident took place in Mammoth Lakes, California, and on the police body camera footage, the actor is heard saying, “I’m being attacked” repeatedly as officers placed handcuffs on him.

He refused to give them his name when asked, simply replying, “I’m an American.”

After being placed in the back of a police cruiser, resort employees told officers they were seriously worried about the actor’s well-being, saying he “couldn’t take care of himself.”

According to the club staff, Osment had only ordered one drink but was allegedly so wasted that he spilled it all over himself. They decided to cut him off, and he got aggressive.

In additional footage from the nearly hour-long ride to the local jail, Osment accuses the officer of kidnapping him and calling him “a f—ing Nazi.” At one point, the actor warned the cop, “You’ll wish you treated me nicer. Yes you will. I was decent to you,” before allegedly using an anti-Semitic slur.

Osment now says he’s embarrassed about the way he behaved.

“I’m absolutely horrified by my behavior. Had I known I used this disgraceful language in the throes of a blackout, I would have spoken up sooner,” the “Blink Twice” actor told PEOPLE. “The past few months of loss and displacement have broken me down to a very low emotional place.”

“But that’s no excuse for using this disgusting word,” he added. “From the bottom of my heart, I apologize to absolutely everyone that this hurts. What came out of my mouth was nonsensical garbage – I’ve let the Jewish community down and it devastates me. “I don’t ask for anyone’s forgiveness, but I promise to atone for my terrible mistake.”
