  • The announcement was made by Wizkid’s manager, Jada Pollock, on March 15.
  • A video showed Zion in a Real Madrid jersey, receiving the academy’s official kit.

Nigerian music sensation Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has joined the growing list of celebrities enrolling their children in prestigious football academies abroad.

On Friday, March 15, Wizkid’s manager and partner, Jada Pollock (aka Jada P), shared a short video of their son, Zion, officially joining the Nigel James Elite Coaching Academy.

The clip showed Zion wearing a Real Madrid jersey before being presented with the academy’s official kit. The academy is run by Nigel James, father of Chelsea’s captain Reece James and his sister, Lauren James, who plays for the club’s women’s team.

Jada P’s post comes weeks after a photo surfaced online showing Zion training at a football academy. In the image, he was seen listening attentively to his coach while sporting Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic number 7 jersey from Saudi club Al-Nassr. He also posed confidently with his foot on the ball, mimicking a professional stance.

Zion’s enrollment in the academy marks a significant step in his budding football journey. Nigel James, an experienced coach, has worked with Tottenham Hotspur’s U-19 squad and served as an assistant coach at Swansea City. He is currently a first-team coach at Reading FC and has previously held coaching roles at Asteras Tripolis in Greece.
