Bravo’s Southern Hospitality is a spin-off of the beloved series Southern Charm as it showcases the personal and professional lives of those working at Leva Bonaparte’s Republic Garden & Lounge in Charleston, South Carolina. In fact, SoHo has seen notable Charmers making brief cameos, with Taylor Ann Green, Venita Flowers, Olivia Flowers, and Jarret “JT” Thomas hanging out at Republic.
So, it comes as no surprise that a few Southern Charm stars have become close friends with those working at Leva’s space. Taylor and Republic bartender TJ Dinch are well-known besties, while VIP host Joe Bradley is good friends with JT, who once called Joe in a Season 2 appearance, “My little son is now the king of King Street.”
In fact, Joe opened up more about his friendship with JT (who backpedaled on his reality TV resignation), and how he was responsible for getting him a spot on Southern Charm.

Joe Bradley Revealed That He Got Jarrett “JT” Thomas A Spot On Southern Charm
Southern Hospitality star Joe Bradley spilled on his friendship with Southern Charm’s Jarrett “JT” Thomas after the latter’s name was dropped at the SoHo Season 3 reunion. Speaking to Decider, Joe dished on his five-year friendship with the real estate professional, admitting that he was the one who got JT the job on the Bravo show.
Joe shared that he and JT first met in 2019, when he was working as a bar back at Republic. “He watched me start Southern Hospitality. And then, you know, two years later, they’re calling me and my friends, and they’re like, ‘Who do you think would be a good fit for Southern Charm?’ And I’m like, ‘I know this crazy guy named Jarrett Thomas.'”
Joe went on to state that he had a “longer-lasting friendship” with JT than most of his Republic cast mates and co-workers, which included his current girlfriend, Maddi Reese.
Fans first met JT on Season 9 of Southern Charm. During the season, he admitted to having a huge crush on Taylor Ann Green. He was also seen feuding with Austen Kroll, which turned physical during the season’s final episode.
JT Thomas works as a real estate professional and founded the luxury AirBnB rental space, The Inns, in Charleston.
In Season 10, JT is seen trying to mend certain friendships with his cast after he allegedly called Patricia Altschul a b****, and made outrageous theories about Madison’s marriage, Austen’s relationship with his new girlfriend, and calling Salley Carson a homewrecker.
Additionally, JT also found himself in a flirtatious relationship with Venita Aspen, who he shot down after admitting to having a girlfriend. However, the latter has since stated in multiple interviews that they became romantically involved before the Season 10 trailer dropped.

JT Apologized For How He Handled His Resignation From The Show, And Revealed He Filmed The Season 10 Reunion
Before Season 10 of Southern Charm premiered, JT shared in an Instagram post that he had decided to quit the show mid-season, adding that he was going to “work on next steps to recover both physically and mentally from what has been an extremely challenging & exhausting year.”
However, JT appeared to continue to film the show as he was seen traveling to the Bahamas to meet with the cast in Episode 12, which is well past mid-season. (Although it turned out to be a really short trip for JT who got eviscerated by his cast at a dinner).
In a YouTube video uploaded in March, JT apologized for how he handled his resignation and was even “walking back” his choice to leave the show.
“I wanted to apologize because I made a public resignation from a really special opportunity and I let down, you know, a lot of people work really hard … and so, I want to apologize. It was bad form to publicly resign like that. I will be at the reunion.”
JT shared that after a well-needed push from those who worked behind-the-scenes on Southern Charm, he decided to finish filming the entirety of Season 10. Additionally, he shared that he had participated in the Season 10 reunion. However, he admitted that it was not “easy” filming the reunion with his cast mates.
“And so, I do finish, and I did the reunion, and I feel good about it. I feel like that was the right thing to do and I’m so glad …”
When Salley appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen after the premiere of Episode 12, she admitted that JT and Craig were mainly in “the hot seat” during the reunion.

Southern Charm Inaccurately Inspired The White Lotus 3 (But Bravo Fans Still Approve)
It’s hard not to see the Southern Charm’s effect on The White Lotus Season 3.
One of the first blows JT experienced with his cast mates was when Craig alleged that he had called Charleston socialite and Whitney Sudler-Smith’s mom, Patricia Altschul, the b-word during the Carolina Cup in Episode 1.
Later on, Craig insists that JT used the word while speaking to Shep and Austen at a golf simulator. However, there has since been no video footage of JT using the b-word to describe Patricia.
Of course, the allegation spread like wildfire among the group of friends. When the cast all sit down for dinner in the Bahamas later in the season, Craig brings up how JT called Patricia a b****, but JT defends himself, and surprisingly, so does Shep. In fact, Molly O’Connell and Taylor also believed that the word wasn’t in JT’s vocabulary.
During Joe Bradley’s interview with Decider, he shared that he was “rooting” for JT. “I think it’s hard for him. Like, we all started our show [with] equal footing. And I think it’s hard. Like those guys on Southern Charm, I actually love all of them. [But] they’re pretty intimidating. Not only as a group, but they’re all like 6’5” too.”
Thankfully, the matter has since been put to rest. In March, JT shared on Instagram Stories that Patricia followed him on the social media platform. Sharing a photo of himself and a screenshot of his Instagram notifications, he captioned it, “This makes me so happy thank you @pataltschul.”
On March 1st, Patricia shared a painting given to her by castmate Ryan Albert, which poked fun of JT handing her the cane at the Carolina Cup. “Look at the fabulous painting I received from @ryanalbert last night at Halls. Its title is ‘Bestowing of the Cane’ by @samueljohnsonart.”
While Southern Hospitality Season 3 is all wrapped up, fans can still stream it on Peacock. Meanwhile, Southern Charm continues to air at 8 p.m. ET, on Thursdays on Bravo.
