LeBron James Reacts To Smith Speaking On Their 1:1

Let’s run it back real quick. As previously reported, the footage of LeBron James confronting Stephen during a Lakers vs. New York Knicks game surfaced earlier this month. Shortly afterward, the sports commentator shared an X post promoting a new episode about the situation. “I didn’t want to have to address this. I wouldn’t have, either, had it not gone viral. Now I have no choice,” he wrote. In the video, he said LeBron approached his critiques of Bronny as a father and parent, and not a basketball player.

While speaking on ‘The Pat McAfee Show,’ LeBron clowned Stephen A. Smith and claimed that the host couldn’t wait to tell everyone about their confrontation involving Bronny. “He likes on a Taylor Swift tour run right now,” Bron said.

“It started with I don’t want to address, I wasn’t going to address it to but since the video came out the need to address it. Are you kidding me? If it’s one person that couldn’t wait till the video drops to address, it’s your a*s,” James said about Stephen.

James denied that he wouldn’t stand in the way of viewers of basketball to not critique the sport or its players. “He missed the whole point,” James said of their side talk. Ultimately, Bron said the “personal” is what bothers him. “It’s my job not only to protect my household but to protect the players, you know…And I know he’s going to be happy as hell, he’s going to be smiling from ear to ear when he hears me talking about him. He’s going to go home and grab his bucket of ice cream and sit in his chair in his tighty-whiteys,” James added. Swipe below to see what else Bron had to say.

Smith Clears The Air On “Swung On Him” Comments

Stephen A. Smith seemingly caught what LeBron James had to say in the interview. In a new video, Smith said that despite what the fans are saying, he would’ve thrown a punch at LeBron if he swung first. Thought he admitted he would’ve gotten his behind “kicked,” he said their confrontation would not have been another Chris Rock and Will Smith moment.

“…if that man put his hands on him, I would’ve immediately swung on him. Immediately. That I’m not gon tolerate. I don’t lie to y’all. His a*s lies a lot and there’s a lot of shady stuff that he does and one of the things is his passive aggressiveness, and the two-facedness, and smiling in your face but stabbing you behind your back. I happen to know that about him, which is why I don’t like me and he don’t like me.”

As the “swung on him” clip made its rounds, he reminded folks of his complete statement and admission that LeBron could fold him. He also said he only brought that up because of what the internet was saying.

“Nice try, folks. On my show, I said I would’ve swung on @KingJames had he slapped me — like lots of y’all said I was scared he would’ve done a few weeks ago. I also said immediately after that I would’ve gotten my ass thoroughly kicked by the 6’8”, 250lb Goliath, but folks just left that part of my Youtube sentence out, huh? Okay. Have fun,” Smith wrote on X.

Smith Apologizes After Bringing Up Kobe Bryant’s Funeral In His Clapback

After the viral video post, Smith circled back to LeBron James, continuing to slam him as a “liar.” He insisted that he hadn’t said anything about Bronny other than his opinion that Bronny was ready for the NBA at the time. He also said that LeBron James has become a petty person over the years and is butthurt over his critiques. He questioned if James was mad that he didn’t believe and would never believe Bron was the “the g.o.a.t (greatest of all time).” Smith also brought up LeBron James’ attendance at Kobe Bryant’s funeral.

“I suggest that he be happy with the things I haven’t brought up. I never openly discussed why you were not at Kobe Bryant’s memorial service,” he said, before also allegedly Bron was absent from Dwyane Wade’s Hall of Fame induction.

That video didn’t sit too long because he jumped on X on Thursday to correct his comments about Kobe’s funeral. He admitted to being wrong about LeBron’s attendance and said he shouldn’t have taken his remarks that low. However, he stood firm on everything else he accused LeBron James of.

“My apologies and clarification. I misspoke in Hour#1 of @FirstTake today when I intimated that LeBron did not attend Kobe Bryant’s memorial. I corrected myself in Hour#2 when I acknowledged he was indeed in attendance. My mistake. Should not have even broached that subject. It was not my main point. I retract NOTHING else that I said. Have a nice day!”
