Kieran Culkin Asks His Wife For More Kids During His Acceptance Speech –Again!

Kieran Culkin’s acceptance speeches are its own brand of entertainment at this point. The Succession star is incredibly funny whenever he gets in front of a microphone, but his antics can sometimes get him in trouble. It seems his success when it comes to winning awards might influence his family dynamic.

Last year, he made a very public request to his wife Jazz Charton regarding their family, and this year, at the Academy Awards, he reiterated his request.

Kieran Culkin’s Hilarious Oscar Acceptance Speech

Fans will remember how, when Kieran Culkin won an Emmy Award last year, he made an odd request to his wife. He said that she had promised him they could have another kid if he won the award he was nominated for, and publicly asked her to fulfill that promise.

This weekend, he won an Academy Award for his role in the movie A Real Pain, and he brought up his comments from a year before when he got up to receive his award.

“I have to thank my wife Jazz for absolutely everything — for giving me my favorite people in the world,” he said about their two kids.

And then, things turned serious…

“About a year ago, I was on a stage just like this and I very stupidly, publicly said that I want a third kid from her because she said if I won the award she would give me the kid. Turns out she said that because she didn’t think I was going to win,” he revealed.

“After the show, we’re walking through a parking lot, she’s holding the Emmy, we’re trying to find our car … and she goes, ‘Oh god, I did say that. I guess I owe you a third kid.’ And I turned to her and I said, ‘Really, I want four.’”

After he said that, he and his wife made a pact.

“She said, ‘I will give you four when you win an Oscar.'”

As far as Kieran is concerned, he held up to his end of the bargain, so he now wants his wife to do the same.

“I just have this to say to you, Jazz, love of my life, ye of little faith: No pressure. I love you. I’m really sorry I did this again. And let’s get cracking on those kids. What do you say?“

Kieran Regretted His Emmy Acceptance Speech

While Jazz obviously took Kieran’s indiscretion well, after the euphoria of his Emmy win wore off, he regretted exposing his wife like that.

During his acceptance speech, he thanked Jazz “for sharing your life with me and for giving me two amazing kids.”

And then he added, “Jazz, I want more. You said maybe, if I win!”

After the ceremony, Kieran expanded on why he’d done that.

“I’ve been asking for a while,” he explained. “Jazz said, “Maybe if you win the Emmy.'”

It was a funny situation, and seeing as he repeated it at the Oscars and Jazz was laughing while it was happening, it’s clear that his mishap didn’t cause any issues for the couple, but Kieran still wishes he’d handled it better.

“Instead of just talking to her in private like a human, I just blasted her on stage, which was very rude,” he admitted.

But all’s well that ends well. And who knows? Maybe this will turn out to be more than just a joke and the family will grow soon.
