Kim Kardashian has been a celebrity for decades at this point. Her family’s association with the O.J. Simpson scandal first exposed Kim to fame. The 2007 release of her sex tape with Ray J became a huge scandal and eventually led to Kim becoming a reality television sensation. Keeping Up With The Kardashians was extremely successful and became a pop culture phenomenon.
However, Kim has profited off of her famous name by getting involved in several business ventures. She had a beauty brand, KKW Beauty, before it shut down in 2021. She also has her own shapewear brand, SKIMS. Some have speculated she was shooting a new campaign for the brand after she was recently spotted posing for a photo shoot on the beach.
Kim Posed For A Provocative Photo Shoot On The Beach
Kim Kardashian recently posed for a very provocative photo shoot on the beach in the Bahamas. She was spotted by the paparazzi posing in a small wet T-shirt and a pair of blue bikini bottoms. For the photos, Kim was seen posing in the sand and playing in the water. And this wasn’t the only day Kim was doing a photo shoot on that particular beach. Cameras also spotted her doing another shoot on the following day. This time, however, Kim sported a leopard-printed bikini. She started with a square neck top and later moved on to a halter top.
Kim’s glam squad included her hairstylist, Chris Appleton. For the shoot, Kim’s hair was appropriately styled down in beachy waves. Some felt that her look was similar to the SKIMS x Dolce & Gabbana launch look. That particular look went viral after its release in November 2024.
Some were speculating whether the photos are for an upcoming SKIMS swim campaign or a possible magazine spread. It was later revealed to be part of the new SKIMS swim collection. In 2020, Kim chatted with Harper’s BAZAAR about the shapewear brand and the vision behind it.
“I’m very minimal but practical,” Kim told the outlet. “When I said I wanted seamless shapewear, everyone looked and thought that I was crazy. The thing that always bothered me [with other brands] was that there would be a seam up the front. You would have this really tight dress and then see this seam, defeating the purpose of wearing something that is supposed to look like there is nothing underneath. I’m all about comfort and glamour at the same time. I always think you can do it all, so why not have everything that you need as far as your products?”
SKIMS, of course, isn’t the only thing on Kim’s agenda. She’s also a mother who stars in a hit reality show. Not to mention KKW Beauty, which was still operating at the time of the interview. “I don’t have downtime right now,” Kim said. “Maybe in about three more years I will—once I finish law school. I just finished year one. It’s really, really a challenge, but I love it. And what I’m learning is all happening in my real life, whether it’s contracts or personal injury law.”

A Look Back At Kim Kardashian And Pete Davidson’s Relationship After Their Awkward Run-In At SNL 50
Kim Kardashian regrets her “fast” romance with Pete Davidson.
During the discussion, Kim did say that she had implemented changes in order to stay focused. “I have put limits on myself,” she said. “When I travel, I literally change my number. I love all my friends, but I really have to keep my circle really small. I don’t go out anymore. I don’t go to events anymore because I have to study.”
Kim Broke Down Her SKIMS Brand And Her Views Toward Beauty Standards
In 2023, Kim spoke with TIME about her SKIMS brand and what her role at the company looks like. When asked to describe her typical day at SKIMS, she said, “I’ll get up, I’ll work out, I’ll take my kids to school and then I’ll come straight here to my office and have Skims meetings about what our next campaigns will look like and what our next commercial will look like and photographers and directors that I want to work with and who I think will be good for what campaign. Then I’ll have a full fit meeting that will take maybe an hour to two hours. And I’ll have a fit model to see it on a different body type. I always like to see it on myself. I know how I like things to feel.”
Kim continued, “There’s never been a product that I haven’t seen and approved. Maybe one time, when there was a supply chain issue, where I said ‘O.K. we need this product. Let’s do it in a ribbed material.’ I don’t happen to be the biggest fan of ribs and now it’s our best-selling fabric. So of course, I’ll keep it but that was surprising to me.”
The success of SKIMS has definitely changed Kim’s world. However, even someone as famous and successful as Kim even admitted, sometimes it can be hard to completely take in. “Obviously you dream big and you have big hopes but this definitely exceeded everything that I ever imagined especially starting as primarily a shapewear brand,” she said. “I’m also the kind of person where I never get too excited, but there are those moments.”
She continued, “I remember I walked into some Hollywood party and there were a lot of well-known people and one of the girls, an actress, she literally yelled ‘Skims!’ as soon as I walked in the room, and someone just lifted her top and goes, ‘I’m wearing a Skims!’ I don’t know if it’s called imposter syndrome or whatever, I still always feel that, but I think it’s part of what keeps me going. I never dreamed that this would be my life.”
When asked if she believes the success of the brand has changed the way others view her, Kim said, “I do. I think at the beginning when I didn’t really understand where my path or my career was going because I was just kind of winging it, I would do licensing deals with a lot of different companies that would contradict themselves, like a cupcake brand with a weight-loss pill at the same time. I wanted to eat that cupcake, but I also wanted to lose weight. I think people maybe have appreciated or seen growth and an evolution. And I think that people can see the work in it.”
Beauty standards was another subject that came up in the discussion, particularly with regard to aging. Kim was asked if she ever thought about how she would approach the campaigns as she got older, since she is the model in most of the ads.

Kim Kardashian’s Shocking Transformation Has Her Looking Like Bianca Censori’s Twin
Was Kim Kardashian inspired by her ex-husband Kanye West’s wife, Bianca Censori, for her new look?
“I understand that maybe in my 50s I’m not going to be wanting to pose in my underwear and do campaigns all the time,” she said. “Some days I feel confident, some days I don’t. I am mindful of that. Having a sustainable brand was always the goal. I love being a part of the campaigns, but I am very realistic that it’s not sustainable forever to be in every single one of them. I mean, I hope we all give ourselves as much grace as possible. We’ll do anything we can to look as young as we can. We’re not going to go out not trying, but I am realistic that there will be a time when I might do certain campaigns that are pajamas and robes and more covered up.”
Kim Has Opened Up About Her Own Insecurities And Body Image Issues
Despite the fact that she is one of the most recognizable faces in the world of celebrity, Kim admitted she still has moments when public criticism bothers her. She made this revelation during a 2019 interview with WSJ Magazine. During the chat, Kim spoke about her 60- to 70-pound weight gain during her pregnancies with her first two children, North West and Saint West. She said that the scrutiny and hate that she received from the public over her weight was very difficult.
“It changed my body, my skin,” Kim reflected. “All I have to do is type Kim and Shamu.” While looking back on the difficult time, Kim said the constant criticism “really changed my security.” “It broke my soul for a while,” she admitted.
Kim was still open about her psoriasis and cellulite with her followers, since she didn’t want to let the hate completely get to her. However, she did say that she was mindful to not post about these particular things all the time. “I’ll never be a person who says it’s a more positive thing if I show my cellulite,” Kim said. “The feeling when I had to wear that corset, [the shapewear], is not that. It’s the second skin that makes me feel comfortable and cozy and all smoothed.”
When Kim showed up to the Met Gala wearing a Thierry Mugler dress, there were a ton of rumors that she actually had ribs removed in order to fit into the garment. Kim told the outlet that she has learned to let these rumors go in one ear and out the other. “I don’t even know if that’s possible,” she said.
SKIMS was initially called Kimono, a decision that caused controversy, since many felt it was a cultural appropriation. However, Kim would later change the name to the one we’re all familiar with today. When chatting with WSJ Magazine, Kim didn’t shy away from speaking about this controversy.

I obviously had really innocent intentions. But, let’s listen. And I want to really listen. And I want to really take it all in.”
