13 killed as Lakurawa terrorists attack 7 communities in Kebbi

At least 13 people have reportedly died in an attack by terrorists of the Lakurawa sect in seven villages in Kebbi State.

It was gathered that the attavk from the terrorist group stemmed from the killing of its leader, Maigemu during a combined security operation in  Birnin Dede village.

Politics Nigeria had reported that Maigemu was killed by a team of military forces and other security personnel, including local vigilante groups.

In what appears to be a repraisal, the terrorists launched an attack on seven communities in the state, razing down buildings and killing many.

Sources within the communities said the terrorists set at least eight villages within the Areaa Local Government Area on fire.

According to the source, only one village within the LGA was spared by the criminals.

The source noted, “We seek protection from Allah against this dreaded group.”

Speaking on a television programmes, Sani Aliyu, the chairman of Arewa LGA confirmed the incident.
