Marcus Jordan’s drug possession charge has been changed from cocaine to ketamine after the Florida Department of Law Enforcement conducted further tests.
The field test initially flagged the white powder as cocaine.
His charges are now the possession of ketamine, DUI with property damage, and resisting arrest, which could lead to a lighter sentence for the son of basketball legend Michael Jordan, as ketamine is a Schedule III drug in the state. Cocaine is a Schedule II drug.
Marcus was arrested after his SUV got stuck on railroad tracks. Officers noted at the time that he also smelled heavily of alcohol.
Last year, paparazzi caught Marcus snorting white powder. He did not address the viral photographs at the time but did issue a statement after the bodycam of his recent arrest hit the internet.
“I appreciate everyone reaching out,” he wrote over an image of Trophy Room’s interior featuring his father’s Chicago Bulls jersey. “I’m focusing on @trophyroomstore right now and won’t be making any comments on recent media stories and my personal life. I sincerely appreciate your concerns & thank you for your kind understanding.”
