Rapper Too Short’s Brother K*lled in East Oakland!!

Sad news for rapper Too Short, who is dealing with the recent fatal shooting of his brother.

According to sources, Wayne Shaw, 61, was running a marijuana grow house in the area and had been sleeping at the warehouse when attempted robbers showed up to the building and tried to use a vehicle to force their way in.

Shaw then confronted the assailants and was shot numerous times around 7 a.m. in the 1200 block of 49th Avenue near East 12th Street. Shaw was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Too Short has not issued a public statement about his brother’s death.

Too Short (stylized as Too $hort) is considered to be a pioneer of West Coast hip hop; Shaw was among the first acts to receive recognition in the genre during the late 1980s. His lyrics were often based on pimping and promiscuity, but also drug culture and street survival illustrated respectively in his most popular singles “Blow the Whistle” and “The Ghetto.” He is one of few acts to have worked with both Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G. during the heights of their respective careers.
