Ashlee Braxton Alleges An Aunt Cut Her Off Over Inappropriate Contact With Uncle At Age 16 (VIDEOS)

A Braxton niece is stirring the family pot this holiday season! Ashlee Braxton, daughter of Michael Braxton Jr., recently opened up on social media about why one of her famous aunts cut her off. Apparently, it has to do with a man and inappropriate contact with Ashlee while she was a minor. She is 32 years old now.

Ashlee Braxton Recalls How Her Dad & Aunt Reacted To Incident
Braxton shared the sensitive content on TikTok in a two-part video on December 18. In total, her storytime was about 15 minutes long. She began the first clip by claiming that her aunt stopped speaking to her because she was under the impression that Ashlee “did something” with her partner at age 16. To be clear, the niece did not name-drop which of her aunts—the late Traci, Trina, Tamar Toni, or Towanda—her story applies to. Ash admitted that she’s been a “nervous wreck” while contemplating whether to tell her story. So, why expose herself? Ashlee said that she’s been working through the incident in therapy and that it impacted her perception of self-worth.
In her first video, Ashlee explained that she and her sister had spent a summer with her aunt. When she got home, her stepmother searched through her phone and found the text conversation with her aunt’s partner. The stepmom told Michael Braxton Jr. what was going on, and he called his sister. Though she later shared what happened, in the FIRST video, she did not disclose what the messages said.
“My aunt was there for me. She was very kind, very nice and was like ‘I’m so sorry that this happened to you.’ She was very kind, and it just felt safe. But then, as the years have gone by, it’s like that mood and that assumption that I didn’t do anything because I was a child was not that assumption anymore.”
Ashlee Braxton said the energy switch-up “boggled [her] mind” because had anything physical happened with the uncle, it would’ve made him a pedophile. For context, the 32-year-old is adamant that nothing happened outside of the text conversation.
“It just felt like love from my family was cut off and gone and you’re like but wait, that guy? And it made it even worse because it was like this guy that was doing this to you on TV? And it’s kind of…in the same spirit of what was happening,” Ashlee shared.
She repeatedly emphasized that no matter what happened, she didn’t ask to be put in that position. Again, at this time, she still didn’t clarify exactly what went down or what the text messages with her aunt’s partner said.
“…and when I say all this is not a dig to my family member because it’s really sad that she also was put in that situation of having to deal and having to handle…I don’t wish that upon anyone either. There’s sympathy there, but there’s also so many other aspects of it when you’re a child and you’re denied a voice.”
Ashlee Braxton added that this entire incident has been a lifelong battle and journey for her. Additionally, she felt like TikTok was the “right” place to talk about it, and where she’d feel accepted.
A few days later, Ashlee doubled down on her intention to bring awareness to the global issue and rejected the idea of dragging anyone specific. She, once again, addressed the internet via TikTok. Ashlee Braxton clarified that the videos were about telling her story because it’s hers to tell!

Ashlee Says She Didn’t Share Her Story For Clout
In a two-part video on Monday, December 30, Ashlee Braxton provided some more details about the incident with her aunt’s partner. However, she began her video by clarifying that she was not out to destroy her family name. Additionally, she denied sharing her story for clout or fame.
“This is not a space and place for me to trash my family’s name. It’s a space and place for me to talk about something I’ve gone through and to be able to make light of a situation that a lot of us have gone through that were completely silenced. And for the first time in a really long time, I just feel like I wanna help other people and I feel free,” she said.
Braxton also thanked supporters who’ve shared loved and their personal experiences with familial trauma and abuse.

Braxton Niece Accuses Aunt’s Partner Sexting Her At Age 16
Ashlee, again, clarified that no physical abuse happened in this incident. Though her memory is “a little foggy,” Braxton said that her aunt’s partner sexted her when she returned home from spending the summer with him and her aunt. At the time, she was 16. She did not specify what the sexts said or whether her aunt’s partner exposed himself.
“…when I leave her partner, her husband at the time, decides to start sexting me. So, texting in a sexual manner. There was nothing physical that happened. Absolutely nothing,” Ash said.

She again explained that her aunt was very supportive at first. However, as the years went on, the relative seemed to switch perspectives to victim-blaming. In the last 16 years, she’s allegedly accused Ash of causing the sexting and becoming physically intimate with the uncle.
“I think the hardest part to navigate was, why is it me? Why am I the scapegoat? Why are you not talking to me? I didn’t ask for it. And I think so much empathy is needed for people who have gone through this sort of situation for you to really understand that we didn’t ask for this situation to happen. I didn’t ask for this, I didn’t want this, I don’t want this. This is not fun. This is my life, this is real, this is my family.”
Shortly after those words, Ashlee began crying, seemingly directed at her aunt’s reaction to the entire situation. She also hinted that the “uncle” involved has a platform and has chosen not to speak on it. Meanwhile, she said everyone was still breaking bread with the man as if nothing had happened.

In her second video, she admitted to needing a quick break before finishing up her explanation. She said she’s worked through the suppressed incident in years of therapy. Again, she emphasized that she cares about the Braxton family and that it’s not easy or fun to discuss the topic in public.
“If I don’t tell this story, who’s gonna tell it? If I don’t honor me, who’s gonna honor me?”
Ashlee Braxton stated that she’s not going to shut up about it and that she’s proud of how far she’s come in overcoming the incident.
