Ever since the Kardashian/Jenner family rose to fame, the clan that is reality TV royalty has constantly been the subject of dramatic headlines. There have been rumors about Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet getting married or having a baby together. There have also been headlines about Kim Kardashian’s quickie divorce and Scott Disick’s weight loss. In addition to the stories about her daughters, Kris Jenner has been gossiped about a lot.
Over the years, fans have gossiped about things like Kris’ relationship with her kids and how she spends her impressive fortune. Despite all the talk about Kris, many fans don’t realize she once settled a disturbing lawsuit that involved her daughter, Kourtney Kardashian.
Kris Jenner And Kourtney Kardashian Faced A Disturbing Lawsuit
Thanks to the fact that the Kardashian/Jenner family has so many devoted fans, members of the clan have enjoyed a great deal of success. In fact, Kylie Jenner was notably called the youngest “self-made” billionaire even though it was later alleged that she lied about her net worth.
While there is no doubt that the family is very fortunate, there are downsides to how incredibly rich and famous they are. Most notably, members of the family know that they could be targeted by people who want to hurt them if they aren’t careful enough.
As a result of that reality, it is known that members of the family spend a lot of money on their security. As it turns out, that investment in their own security played a role in Kris Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian facing a disturbing lawsuit.
In January 2022, Vulture published an article explaining the lawsuit that Kris and Kourtney were facing.

That article revealed that the mother and daughter were being sued by their former bodyguard named Marc McWilliams. At that time, a judge had ordered the matter to go through the arbitration process.

Fans Accused Timothée Chalamet Of Getting Plastic Surgery From Kylie Jenner’s Surgeon, Here’s Whether He Did
After Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner became a couple, rumors he was going to her plastic surgery shocked his fans.
In his lawsuit, Kris’ former bodyguard accused the family matriarch of groping him. Furthermore, the bodyguard claimed that he was subjected to discrimination by Kris based on his race and gender.
In addition to suing Kris Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian, Marc McWilliams named a third party in his lawsuit. According to
Vulture’s
article about the matter, the bodyguard was also suing the company that contracted him to work as a bodyguard for Kourtney and Kris, David Shield Security.
Marc’s lawsuit also claimed that he was the victim of wrongful termination. Although that part of the lawsuit may have been focused on the company that used to employ him, David Shield Security.
The bodyguard’s lawsuit also stated that in addition to protecting Kris, he provided the same service for her daughter, Kourtney.
In March 2017,
People
published an article about the security that the Kardashian/Jenner family employed to keep themselves safe. According to the outlet who cited an inside source, the members of the family employed 24/7 security after several frightening incidents.
Interestingly, even though Kourtney was named in the lawsuit, she wasn’t accused of treating the bodyguard the same way as her mom allegedly did. As a result, it is interesting that she was named in the lawsuit at all.

Kim Kardashian Made A Shocking Confession About How Embarrassed She Is Of Her Own Body
Kim Kardashian has always seemed proud of her body but she once confessed how embarrassed she can be of her figure.
When the lawsuit against Kris and Kourtney was first filed, Hollywood Life published an article revealing the mother and daughter’s reaction to the matter.
In June 2022,
Us Weekly
published an article about the family’s long history of being involved in lawsuits. For example, Khloé Kardashian was sued by a paparazzi, Kendall Jenner was named in a lawsuit over the Fyre Festival, and Blac Chyna sued the family over her reality show’s cancelation.
As Hollywood Life’s article revealed, a lawyer for Kris and Kourtney released a statement completely denying the allegations made in the lawsuit.
“Kris Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian vehemently deny the completely false claims made by former security guard Marc McWilliams. His absurd allegations are clearly fabricated and are contrary to easily confirmed facts. Kris never acted inappropriately toward him.”
Still not done, the lawyer went on to make allegations about what they claimed was the real origin of the lawsuit. According to Hollywood Life’s article, the lawyer’s statement accused the bodyguard of being fired over their own negligence.
“The security company stopped assigning McWilliams to work there after the guard was repeatedly caught sleeping in his car on the job. Significantly, McWilliams never made any complaints to his employer about Kris until contriving this ludicrous claim a year later.”
Notably, the lawsuit also addressed the fact that Kourtney was named in the lawsuit despite not facing the same allegations. Finally, the lawsuit also claimed that Kris and Kourtney intended to sue the bodyguard at a later date.
“Although Kourtney is named in the suit, she is not accused of doing anything improper, nor did she do so. When Kris and Kourtney defeat this frivolous lawsuit, they intend to immediately sue McWilliams and his attorneys for malicious prosecution.”
Kris Jenner Settled The Bodyguard’s Lawsuit
In October 2023, Yahoo! Entertainment republished an article from a website called The Blast. That article focused on Kris settling the lawsuit from the bodyguard at that time.

According to the article, The Blast obtained legal documents that showed that Marc McWilliams filed to have his lawsuit dismissed with prejudice. For those that don’t know, dismissing a legal matter with prejudice means that it can never be refiled.
Thus, there was no doubt that the bodyguard’s lawsuit was over, and it wouldn’t come back to haunt Kirs Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian.
When celebrities have lawsuits settled, observers often assume that they paid to make the matter go away. That makes a lot of sense, since that is what leads to the end of many lawsuits that involve celebrities.
However, it is important to note that the legal documents obtained by The Blastdidn’t indicate that Kris paid to end the lawsuit. Instead, it is entirely possible that the bodyguard decided to end the legal drama after concluding they couldn’t win. Conversely, there also is no denying that Kris could have paid to make the drama go away. The public almost certainly will never know what led to the lawsuit ending.
What is clear, however, is that as of December 2024, there was no indication that Kris and Kourtney followed through on their threat. As of that date, there hadn’t been any headlines about Kris and Kourtney suing their former bodyguard as there almost certainly would have been if they took him to court.
