You Can’t Bring Me Down, You Are The One That Will Go Down – Wike Warns PDP Leaders

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has alleged that some leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are working hard to bring him down instead of focusing on resolving the crisis facing the party.

He also added that most PDP leaders are obsessed with their personal ambitions instead of focusing on how to collectively develop the party.

The former Rivers State Governor argued that the lack of focus is the principal problem of the PDP, which has left the party embroiled in various challenges.

He, however, warned that he can’t be brought down, adding that those working against him are the ones that will go down eventually.

Wike made the submissions on Wednesday during an interview with newsmen.

“Let me tell you the problem, it is not that the PDP can not get its acts together, but it is this personal ambition; this attitude that I must bring Wike down.’

“And when all your attempts is to bring Wike down, you make mistake. It is in bringing Wike down, you are not focused, because Wike will not go down. Rather, you are the one that will go down,” he said.

Meanwhile, human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, has faulted the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over the gift of houses and cars to judges.

Naija News recalls that Wike had in October flagged off the Design and Construction of 40 Judges’ Quarters in the Katampe District in the nation’s capital, Abuja, which has generated controversy, with many arguing that it is unethical.

In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Falana argued that it is wrong for the executive to give gifts to the members of the judiciary, especially judges.

According to Falana, it is the reason the autonomy of the judiciary has been constitutionalised, stressing that the judges have no business going to the executive to buy them cars and houses.

He maintained that the Constitution granted financial autonomy to the judiciary, which gave it the authority to manage its budget.
