The Golden State Warriors welcomed back team legend Klay Thompson as they hosted the Dallas Mavericks at the Chase Center on Tuesday night. Thompson, who spent 13 seasons with Golden State and won four championships, faced off against his former team and Splash Brother, Stephen Curry, for the first time since joining the Mavericks this offseason.
Just like Thompson’s return to the Chase Center, the game too proved to be an entertaining one. The new Mavs star had a great outing against his former side, dropping 22 points on the Warriors.
However, he ended up on the losing side of the NBA Cup match. This was due to the heroics of his former Splash Buddy, Stephen Curry.
With a game-high 37 points to seal the victory, Curry was the star of the show. In this game, Curry also made NBA history by becoming the oldest point guard to have played 30 points in back-to-back games.

Aside from this, after completing his warm-up, the Mavs club determined that Luka Doncic’s left groin strain was safe to play, and he started with 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Dereck Lively scored 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds despite being doubtful to participate due to an injured right shoulder. But the Mavs made 18 mistakes, which allowed the Warriors to score 21 points. This eventually resulted in their 120-117 loss against the Warriors.

Stephen Curry was at his flying best against the Dallas Mavericks in his most recent matchup during an NBA Cup game. Along with dropping a monstrous 37 points, he went on a 12-3 run in the dying minutes of the game to end it. Curry seemed unstoppable in the 4th quarter, which left the NBA community lost for words.

The Warriors fans will be hoping Curry performs the same throughout the season if they were to challenge for the 2025 NBA title. Memphis Grizzlies are the next opponent of Curry and Co.
