“We will change a few things,” Darren Cahill suggests Jannik Sinner may skip 2025 Monte Carlo as he rolls out new plans

Jannik Sinner enjoyed the best season of his career this year, winning seven titles in total. He flourished on hard court and grass courts but failed to do well on clay. This has led Sinner’s coach Darren Cahill to plan a new strategy for the 2025 season.

The Italian began the 2024 season by winning the Australian Open. He continued with the momentum at the Rotterdam Open but suffered his first loss at the Indian Wells Masters in March.

The 23-year-old did well to bounce back at the Miami Open and claimed the title. At the Monte Carlo, the first clay Masters 1000 of the season, Sinner failed to reach the final. He then withdrew from the Madrid Open due to a hip injury and was also forced to withdraw from the Italian Open.

The World No. 1 returned to action at the French Open, where he exited in the semifinals after a five-set loss against Carlos Alcaraz.

Legendary coach Cahill has now revealed a strategic plan for next year’s clay season, which may see the Italian miss the Monte Carlo Masters.

In 2025 we will change a few things in terms of the schedule. The Miami-clay transition was too abrupt this year, we will prepare for clay better. Everything will continue to revolve around the Slams.

Sinner claimed his second Grand Slam at the US Open and ended the year winning three Masters 1000 titles. In all the tournaments he competed in this season, he at least reached the quarterfinals of each of them.

This time around, with no Djokovic in the event, he is the Pole favorite to clinch the trophy and end the year with eight singles titles. Darren Cahill has backed him to win the title on home soil.

Jannik has the mentality of someone who works to be the best. Even in difficult situations, he manages to smile because tennis is his love.

At the ATP Finals, Sinner has been drawn in the Ilie Nastase Group with Daniil Medvedev, Taylor Fritz, and Alex de Minaur. He will open his campaign against De Minaur on November 10, the same day the event commences.
