Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers went into the high-voltage clash against the Detroit Lions on the back of a stunning win over the Jaguars a few days earlier. They were brought back down to earth by the Lions as Dan Campbell’s side took control of the NFC North.
A late touchdown from Emanuel Wilson in the fourth quarter may lead everyone to believe the game was close, but it was far from it. LaFleur’s side barely kept pace with the Lions.
The most infuriating part of the entire night for the Packers was the Lions taking advantage of the fourth downs. Campbell is perhaps the handful of coaches in the NFL who love to attack teams head-on even when there’s more chance of a punt than a score.
Campbell orchestrated two TDs on fourth-down plays. In the early third quarter on the second and fourth, RB Jahmyr Gibbs scored for a 15-yard rushing touchdown. After Gibbs’ TD, the cameras caught Matt LaFleur dropping an F-bomb.

It’s not anything unusual for a head coach to use such language during a heated moment. Perhaps every coach who finds themselves on the opposite end of a Lions drubbing has gone through the same emotion at some point in the last two years.

It was a crucial tie for both teams. A Packers win would have sent them to the top of the NFC North, but the defeat dropped them to third as the Vikings defeated the Seahawks later on in the day.
The biggest talking point from the Packers-Lions game was quarterback Jordan Love throwing another pick. During his first full season as the Packers starter, Love only threw 11 interceptions, but Sunday’s pick was already his 10th this campaign.
Reporters asked LaFleur whether Love throwing so many picks is a cause for concern, which ticked him off.
It’s really annoying up here. He’s fighting, he’s competing. We know that we’ve got to take care of the football, but I don’t question anything about what he’s trying to do. We just got to do it better.

Love has endured groin and knee issues this year, hampering his play during game days. He still completed 147 passes for 1820 yards and 15 touchdowns and is on course to double those numbers by the end of the season.
The Packers face rivals the Chicago Bears next before welcoming the San Francisco 49ers at Lambeau Field.
