(Video) Dave Roberts twerking dance amuses LA fans at Dodgers parade

Fan celebrations aside, the person who set the stage on fire during the Los Angeles Dodgers World Series parade was none other than beloved manager Dave Roberts. Roberts along with rapper Ice Cube took to the stage to vibe with the Dodgers celebration on Friday morning.

The fans were amused to see Roberts twerking and dancing alongside Ice Cube with a bottle in hand. The video got more than a million views as fans from the MLB community joined in to be part of this chaotic party.

According to reports, the streets were filled with more than 200,000 people while another set of 42,000 took the seats at Dodger Stadium. Each player got to pour out their feelings on winning and celebrating the Fall Classic since 2020.

It’s one thing to celebrate with your coaches, the organization, the players, but I’m telling you, the game is about the players and the fans. This right now, it really put a bow on the season where there was some unfinished business in 2020…The city needed this parade. And we got our parade.

Dave Roberts added that this celebration was everything they hoped for and tried so hard to achieve as they could not celebrate their win in 2020. During the COVID-shortened period, the fans and players could not interact in celebratory fashion due to the grim situation and restrictions all over.

LA Dodgers talks about their journey to the 2024 World Series win during parade

The Los Angeles Dodgers players, along with their families, mounted on top of the open double-decker bus to greet the fans on LA street on Friday. Watching the streets full of vibrancy, pitcher Clayton Kershaw emotionally noted, “It means the world to me.”

He added how all the year-long efforts get rewarded as he was looking at the people, all smiling and cheering for the win. Kershaw added it’s all worth it, “it really does”. Despite not being part of the key contributions to the 2024 World Series victory, Kershaw is very much beloved by the team and the city.

This was the coolest thing I’ve ever been part of. I’m just so thankful to every single fan that came out. So thankful how well they’ve treated me and my family for all these years. I mean, we’ve been through it, you know, we’ve been through some stuff, so to be able to see them as happy as they were, being able to celebrate with us.

Dodgers outfielder, and current free agent, Kike Hernandez, spoke about how he said 2020 will be the Dodgers year and “guess what?” it has been so far. He questioned who won more championships in 2020 and gleefully answered, “Absolutely nobody.”

Even Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto spoke in English during the parade, thanking the fans for being there for them. Freddie Freeman, who won the World Series MVP award, said, “I can’t wait to run this back next year.”

The first baseman helped the team in the Fall Classic despite a badly sprained ankle and a broken rib cartilage. He thanked the fans for helping him and his family when his son got sick and so, he wanted to do everything in his power to return all the love he received.

The celebratory vibe will carry on with LA for a long time as they head into free agency. Their next plan will be to re-sign and get players for another World Series run in 2025.
