RHONY star Barbara Kavovit starred on the show back in season 11, but the experience has certainly left a mark on her. She “hoped she’d make it out alive” – and has now written a murder mystery novel.
As a friend on The Real Housewives of New York City, Barbara Kavovit has now announced the launch of her new book, Murder in Modica, and it’s all thanks to the Bravo show it even exists.
Barbara Kavovit launches murder mystery book
Author Barbara Kavovit, who appeared on RHONY season 11, has written a murder mystery book. It’s thanks to her experience filming with Bravo that she even had the idea in the first place!
She’s already written empowering non-fiction books Heels of Steel, Room For Improvement and Invest In Your Nest, but it was time for the star to bring out a particularly spooky story for her fans.
Kavovit appeared on RHONY as a guest on seasons 3 to 9, then as a friend of Luann de Lesseps for season 11, who said, “Barbara was one of the few there for her during her road to sobriety.”
Barbara has been incredibly inspired by her experience filming as a friend for RHONY season 11. She hoped she’d “kept saying during Housewives that she hopes to make it out alive,” as told to OK.
She joked: “Every time we would go on a cast trip or do something, I would feel like somebody was going to stab me in my sleep. I wanted to do a murder mystery for a really long time.”
“And I said, ‘You know what? There’s something there with Housewives and the feeling that I was not going to get out of alive’,” Kavovitz continued, admitting how filming was dramatic.
Despite the experience, Kavovit doesn’t regret going on the show and said: “Even though some of the things that happened weren’t positive, there’s always something you take out of that you can learn from.”
“Because I am a very positive person. I tried to spin it like, ‘Okay, I learned something. I’m a better person. I grew from it,’” said Kavovit, who works as the founder and CEO of Evergreen Construction.
