Kyle Richards is currently navigating her split from a 27-year marriage to Mauricio Umansky, the father of her children. The RHOBH star is now claiming filing for divorce would be “big and dramatic”.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has followed the fallout of Richards’ divorce over the last two seasons. Kyle Richards is now speaking out on why she still hasn’t divorced her estranged husband.
Kyle Richards navigates tough split
Kyle Richards is currently navigating a split from estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky. She told Access Hollywood Housewives Nightcap how they no longer live together but have a good friendship.
She told them, “We have a big life, family, homes, together. Okay, we’re not together, but we don’t want anything else to change. I’m not selling our homes, he doesn’t want to sell them.”
“We’re just like, ‘Okay, you live your life, I’ll live mine, and that’s it’,” Kyle added, before admitting Mauricio is “allowed to do whatever he wants.” She said dating is something she’ll “share” if anything happens.
Divorce would be ‘big and dramatic’
Kyle claims filing for divorce from Mauricio feels “big and dramatic”. When asked if the former couple are going to call it quits on their marriage and file, she told Access Hollywood, “That’s a good question.”
She said, “We are good friends, we are family, we support each other. We want the best for each other. He comes home for dinner, I ask him advice on business stuff, he says, ‘I’m proud of you.’”
“We had a great marriage for a long time, and now we have this great friendship. We know we are family no matter what, and it’s really important to us that our daughters feel that,” Kyle added.
When asked why they haven’t filed for divorce, she said there “hasn’t been any pressing reason” to do so, but adds that he moved out and they do their own thing. Richards did admit it’s “scary to do that,” too.
She addresses sexuality confusion
Kyle addressed confusion about her sexuality after a music video of her being intimate with friend, Morgan Wade, was released. She spoke to her four daughters about how she felt.
“There were stories out there about me and… this did make me wonder, you know, and question myself,” she explained. “I really never thought like this before. This is not the way I was raised.”
“I like to lead by example,” Kyle shared. “If this is what I’m going through and feeling, I want them to always feel comfortable enough to share with me the hardest conversations and know they’ll be accepted.
“Having that conversation, their reaction and response to me, I thought, ‘Wow, I mean, I’m just so impressed by these four women in front of me,’” she said. “Maybe, just maybe, I did do a good job.
