The 2024 racing season has been really special for former Cup series champion Tony Stewart. He made some of the biggest moves of his career, including the ending of his Cup series team Stewart Haas Racing. The 2024 season also saw him making full-time debut at NHRA Top tier, replacing his wife Leah Pruett, who was expecting their son.
Now the happy news is here as Tony Stewart has announced the birth of their baby boy, whom they have named Dominic James Stewart. The birth happened when he was at the Pomona race strip for the NHRA weekend. The team celebrated the birth of their boss’s baby with a special poster that was hander outside their garage.

He talked with Fox Sports Bob Pockrass about his feelings about finally becoming a father and heaving a family. Stewart pointed out that he is proud to have his son and revealed that when he saw the face on his son for the first time, he had emotions he never had in his 53-year life. It seems the ex-SHR boss really enjoyed that feeling.
I also wondered how Tony Stewart and Leah Pruett came up with the name Dominic James Stewart. This is what Stewart said, and why there was one name that was definitely off the table: pic.twitter.com/0R9DOJlWrv

Tony Stewart explains the one thing that made naming his son hard
The one big task Tony Stewart was given this season was finding a suitable name for his son and he found it harder than he thought it would be. His connections and being 53 years meant, there was a lot of good names he had to remove from the list.
The Stewart family is over the moon with the new addition to their family and seems to have a lot of plans in front of them for the future. It will be interesting to see what is ahead for the veteran racer and the newborn Dominic.
