A lot of Hollywood celebrities have been fan-cast for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. So it was a big deal when Denise Richards—who now makes $2 million on OnlyFans—appeared on the show (Seasons 9 & 10). But while the show still gets juicy actress drama from Garcelle Beauvais, fans want more following complaints about Kyle Richards not sharing much about her split from Mauricio Umansky. Chrissy Teigen has been one of the top suggestions for years now.
She’s a big fan of the show, after all. Chrissy’s name came up the most when Lisa Rinna left after Season 12. Unfortunately, John Legend’s wife of 11 years isn’t into the idea, despite glowing recommendations from longtime diamond holders, like Kyle Richards and Erika Jayne. Here’s why the reality TV host thinks she wouldn’t do well on Real Housewives.
Kyle Richards Wanted Chrissy Teigen To Replace Lisa Rinna On RHOBH
In January 2023, Kyle told TMZ that she wanted Chrissy to replace Lisa after her exit. “I always said Chrissy Teigen would be the best,” she said, noting that “it’s not an easy job, believe it or not.” No one was ever able to replace Lisa. Executive producer, Alex Baskin, said it’s an “impossible” task.
I think you never look to replace someone who just departed—because there is only one Lisa Rinna.
At that time, the producer added that finding a new cast member was “really hard.” Alex explained: “You want someone who has relationships with the rest of the group, someone who will be a real girlfriend to them and, at the same time, someone who will make a distinct impression.”
In February 2023, Erika also weighed in on Kyle’s suggestion, saying the Lip Sync Battle alum would be an “amazing” addition to the show. “She would have fun,” the XXpen$ive performer told TMZ, noting that Chrissy “doesn’t need this show.”

What’s Really Going On Between Kyle Richards And Morgan Wade Amid Kyle’s “Evolving Sexuality”?
Kyle Richards recently “questioned” her sexuality amid her rumored lesbian affair with Morgan Wade.
In 2023, Chrissy was rumored to be joining the cast. But despite the cast recommendations, Reddit critics weren’t so welcoming of the idea. “No more people who are already well known!” one wrote. “I want messy rich people who are desperate to be famous and will show us everything!”
Fans also wanted Kathy Hilton to permanently fill Lisa Rinna’s spot on RHOBH. But her daughter, Nicky Hilton, thinks her mother doesn’t have the time. “I do not think she would,” Nicky told People in 2021. “I don’t think she has time for it. It’s a full-time job.”
Chrissy Teigen Doesn’t Want To Join Real Housewives Because Of The Fights
While Chrissy sounds like a great pick for RHOBH, the TV personality herself doesn’t feel like she is. Contrary to popular belief, she’s not into all that drama. “A lot of people think that I, like, love conflict or I’d be so good on, like, Real Housewives or something…I’m always like, ‘No, no,'” she told ET in June 2022.

The Most Disastrous Cast Trips On Real Housewives
From the islands of Anguilla to Amsterdam, the women of The Real Housewives have had some explosive cast trips.
A year later, the wife of the “All of Me” musician doubled down on her stance about joining Housewives. She explained that just because she loves watching the series, doesn’t mean she wants to be on it. “I mean I love everything about it, obviously I love watching the show,” she told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.
Also, it doesn’t seem like it, but I don’t like fighting, I really don’t. I would cry a lot!
Chrissy also made a good point in saying, “I don’t think fans of the show are necessarily good on it because we know too much and I think they come in and it seems like they’re too fan-girly.” And when Andy suggested that she could be the “fun girl” who doesn’t have to fight, the Chrissy’s Court star argued, “But they hate the fun girl.”
Vanessa Bryant was also on Andy’s wishlist for RHOBH. “Kobe Bryant’s wife, Vanessa Bryant? We pursued her every year, and she was a no. She passed,” he shared. But according to a representative for the model-turned-philanthropist, “Vanessa has never been asked nor does she have interest in being on the show.”
Chrissy Teigen Wants Real Housewives Stars To Stop Talking About Money
Another reason Chrissy isn’t a good fit for Real Housewives is that she’s against the cast flaunting their wealth, which fans love the most. In her Instagram Story in October, she called the housewives for their “icky” discussions about money, and urged them to “stop doing it, because you know what you’re doing.” We’d agree that they do, and that is to keep the provoking fans’ attention, good or bad.
“OK, Housewives, you know I love you so much… I watch the show religiously, but it is icky to talk about other people’s money or lack thereof, or that their house is going through something, or they’re struggling, or they can’t afford this, or they can’t afford that.”
Chrissy added: “It makes my stomach turn. It’s icky… It’s not cool to talk about.” And while she agrees, “it makes for riveting TV,” she said “it’s not nice,” “doesn’t feel good,” “doesn’t sit well,” and “it just makes you look poopy.” In a follow-up rant, the mother-of-four also complained about featuring social media users’ comments on the show.

Fans Wanted Brandi Glanville Back On RHOBH After Her Last WWHL Appearance
Brandi Glanville was asked if she’d want to return to RHOBH during her last WWHL visit.
“We’ve got stop with treating random social media accounts as gospel on these shows,” she said in her video. “Someone will be like, ‘Um, @Jimmy6969 said that you have been accused of…’ Like, who the f*** cares? Who cares what this rando online has to say? And you treat it as gospel.” She’s got a point, but fan engagement is a huge part of Housewives‘ success.
Speaking at Hayu’s first-ever FanFest in November—where Real Housewives of London was announced—Andy said that it was a “deliberate avenue,” bringing up viewers’ questions in the show’s reunions and WWHL when he “was in charge of programming.”
