Kylian Mbappe hasn’t had the best of starts to his life at Real Madrid. The former Paris Saint-Germain captain and French International has had quite a slump in form, with the games against FC Barcelona and AC Milan ‘exposing’ his difficulties in finding the net for the Los Blancos. Mbappe was peculiarly out of touch on Tuesday as Madrid conceded three at home to the Rossoneri.
After being caught offside numerous times against Barcelona, Mbappe’s weakness against Milan was getting his shots on target. The 25-year-old spurned several chances to drag his side back into the game, with the most notable miss being a failed flick from close range.
Several fans and pundits have turned against the player, with him failing to live up to the mighty expectations ahead of his arrival. Despite having seven goals in La Liga and the Champions League combined, fans are expecting more from the superstar.

From being proclaimed as the heir to Cristiano Ronaldo‘s throne at Madrid, to being criticized and slandered on social media, Kylian Mbappe hasn’t had the best of starts at Real. A fan commented that Mbappe is really holding back Madrid’s attack and needs to be benched if they want to fix things.
In another rant, a fan ordered Carlo Ancelotti to put Mbappe in his natural position instead of playing him out of place for Vinicius. Many even blamed Mbappe for willingly joining a club that already has a surplus of talented left wingers. Fans were left to wonder what could have been if he decided to join a club like Barcelona or Bayern Munich.

At just 25 years old, Mbappe surely has time on his side. With the Real Madrid crowd being extremely reactive, one shouldn’t be surprised if he quickly becomes crowd favorite once again after a good spell of games. With Jude Bellingham also going through a tough phase, the onus falls on Ancelotti to make his ‘expensive’ squad tick once again.
