Since Survivor has such a devoted fan following, Jeff Probst’s beloved reality show gets debated all the time. After all, most Survivor fans who aren’t trying to figure out which seasons to watch first know a lot about the show, including who was the first player to be medically evacuated. As a result, there are a lot of debates about how to rank each season, who the best players ever are, and how to compare every winner in the show’s history.
No matter how many fans love to debate Survivor, however, they can mostly only know what is shown on TV. With that in mind, it is fascinating when Survivor players reveal what goes on behind the scenes. A perfect example of that is the fact that Kass McQuillen once made a series of accusations about Woo Hwang that were never hinted at on the show.
Survivor’s “Chaos” Kass McQuillen Made Some Amazing Accusations About Woo Hwang
Throughout Kass McQuillen’s Survivor tenure, she developed a reputation for saying and doing things that other people wouldn’t. As a result, she earned the nickname that most fans still know her for: “Chaos” Kass.
A perfect example of that came in 2022 when Kass came out with a series of accusations about one of the most popular Survivor players ever. In response to a social media post about Woo Hwang, Kass called him out for several things and then elaborated on some of them.
During his appearances on Survivor: Cagayan and Survivor: Cambodia, Woo was one of the most popular players by far. Known for his good looks, smile, and enthusiasm, it seemed like everyone would love the guy.

Despite that, fans noticed over time that several of his tribemates had called him “Weasal” Woo. At the time, fans had no idea why Woo had been given that nickname. In 2022, many fans were given an explanation when Kass called Woo’s antics out.

Quotes account was about a long held belief among fans of the show. After Woo won the final immunity challenge, he voted out Kass McQuillen, took Tony Vlachos to the final tribal council, and lost. The long held belief was that Woo would have won if he took Kass to the end instead.
In response, Kass tried to dissuade Survivor fans from thinking that Woo ever had a chance to win Survivor: Cagayan. Kass did that by listing a series of amusing and amazing accusations about Woo’s conduct in the game.
“Woo was a recruit who stole from production (while on Brawn who weren’t pleased – even tried to throw a challenge, but, Luzon). He took Trish’s meds. He wasn’t winning. FTC was two hours of why Woo didn’t have integrity & was cut for your viewing pleasure. Put it to bed.”
In the comment section of that tweet, Kass answered some of the comments and elaborated on her accusations about the lovable Woo Hwang.

For example, Kass explained her claim that Woo stole Trish’s medication.
“Medicated mouthwash or something he was using to clean his mouth. You can imagine how livid she was. She may have disliked me but I didn’t take her stuff. There is a med box, in case people need things. Initials are used to mark it, limited quantities. Off limits.”
Given how outspoken Trish could be, it is amazing to imagine how she would have reacted to Woo taking her medicated mouthwash.

Kass revealed that she was told by the members of Woo’s original tribe that he stole food from Survivor’s production crew.
“[He] allegedly stole sandwich from production during typhoon when everyone was starving and freezing. Hearsay, of course. First thing we heard at swap, though. The meds thing was a direct statement from an angry banshee on the beach.”
Why Many Survivor Fans Think That Kass McQuillen’s Accusations Against Woo Hwang Are True
Aside from the people who actually witnessed Woo Hwang play Survivor the first time, nobody else can know for sure how he behaved. Despite that, many Survivor fans who’ve seen Kass’ accusations against Woo believe she was telling the truth, at least as she knows it.
In fairness to Woo, it could be argued that the accusations that Kass made were self-serving. After all, the main point that Kass was making is that Woo wouldn’t have beaten her if she made it to the final tribal council beside him.
That said, Survivor fans have a lot of reasons to believe what Kass wrote about Woo on X/Twitter. For example, when Spencer Bledsoe took part in a Reddit Ask Me Anything session in 2014, he was asked why Woo was called a Weasel. In response, Spencer heavily hinted at Woo being shady.
“There’s a lot to it, but at one point when Sarah explained some of it to us on the island she got yelled at, so I don’t think it’s something the show would want me discussing. I’ll just say that Woo wasn’t nearly as well-liked as he was portrayed to be, and for pretty good reason.”
Another one of Woo’s former tribemates made a very similar statement.

In May 2014, Trish Hegarty was interviewed by Uproxx. During that interview, Trish explained that Woo was untrustworthy while being cagey about why she felt that way.
“I really like Woo. Woo’s a really nice guy, but I never trusted him. I always thought he’s a bit of a weasel. He had done some things at the beginning of the game that led him to be very untrustworthy that they didn’t show on camera. Then when he went on the Cliff and Lindsey alliance, I was very wary of him. So I was always wary of Woo, even though I really liked him as person.”
Finally, in September 2015, Inside Survivor’s Martin Holmes published an article about the mystery of why Woo was called a Weasel.
That article claimed that Woo stole food and water from Survivor’s production crew. To be more specific, the article claimed Woo found an unoccupied production tent during a bad storm, drank a lot of water, and ate a bunch of snacks he found inside. Furthermore, the article claimed that when a camera operator left his water unattended, Woo drank it all and that he took extra food at camp.
Woo’s tribemates learning about this behavior is why Woo was labeled a Weasel, according to Inside Survivor.
