The stars were out in New York last night. With a stacked UFC 309 card boasting of heavy hitters, a no. of high-profile names made it to Madison Square Garden, including WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H and his wife, Stephanie McMahon. Taking to X, the daughter of Vince McMahon posted a note of ecstasy.
She thanked UFC president Dana White for taking such great care of her and her husband. McMahon then congratulated all the winners from an action-packed night that was headlined by the heavyweight title bout between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic. As it happened, a hellbent Jones inflicted a third-round TKO loss on 42-year-old Miocic, who announced his retirement after the show.
On the other hand, Jones, the champ, confirmed that he doesn’t plan on hanging up his boots just yet. Jon said he’d sit down with UFC prez White to discuss his future. The 6’4″ New Yorker even did the Donald Trump dance in front of the US President-elect himself, who was sitting front row for the fight. Trump was accompanied by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
Thank you @danawhite @ufc for taking such great care of @TripleH and I last night at #UFC309! Congratulations @Jonnybones @charlesdobronxs @ViviAraujoMMA @NoBickal, Mauricio Ruffy and all the fighters who competed last night @TheGarden! It was Incredible! pic.twitter.com/4I6j4i0em8

The Republican politician recently announced that Musk will co-chair the Department of Government Efficiency with Vivek Ramaswamy in his cabinet once the new term gets underway. Triple H also sparked headlines for his meet-up with Trump, the clip of which was raking in stacks of engagement on social media.
It’s a well-known fact that some of WWE’s greatest icons played a pivotal role in the recently-concluded presidential elections in the US. Names like The Undertaker and Kane, aka Glenn Jacobs, politicked for Donald Trump. However, wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista and hardcore legend Mick Foley vouched for Kamala Harris.
What to expect from WWE and the UFC bolstering their ties under TKO?
Last year, TKO Group Holdings merged WWE and the UFC under its umbrella. Enough time has passed to lean on the conclusion that the two sporting juggernauts are faring quite well in concordance with each other.
The crossovers between these companies have also become frequent over the past few months or so. Earlier this year, Michael Chandler made a guest appearance on an episode of Raw. He called out UFC legend Conor McGregor for a fight.
The Notorious One hasn’t stepped foot inside the octagon since June 2021, when he suffered a broken leg against Dustin Poirier. McGregor recently teased linking up with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes after the latter advocated for Mystic Mac’s potential career in WWE.
