The Las Vegas Raiders are officially in a rebuild. At least their coaching room is. Following the team’s blowout 41-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, the team’s ownership, led by Mark Davis and Tom Brady, has opted to part ways with offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, offensive line coach James Cregg, and quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello.
Despite the Raiders’ decision to keep Antonio Pierce as the team’s head coach after a tragic 2023 season from Josh McDaniels, the team has not been able to improve. This season, Las Vegas lost its best player on offense in Davante Adams and is now sitting at the bottom of the AFC West.
Antonio Pierce had to make the rough call after the Raiders’ struggles persisted through the season. The decision comes just before the team heads into a bye week, which means the Raiders can decide on the interim replacements for the coaches and get to work with the hope of turning things around in the second half of the season.

The team has yet to announce an interim play-caller but Scott Turner, the team’s passing game coordinator, appears to be the logical choice.
The Las Vegas Raiders have lost their last five outings
The team ranks 28th in the league in terms of total offense averaging 288.1 yards per game and their rushing offense is virtually non-existent. They are second from the bottom up to the Dallas Cowboys, averaging 79 yards per game.
Luke Getsy and his offense struggled to stay consistent throughout games, despite getting off to strong starts.
The Raiders have faced uncertainty in their quarterback room with Gardner Minshew, the starter being benched in favor of Aidan O’Connell. However, that did not help the team’s offense as he went down with a thumb injury in Week 7, which forced the Raiders to bring back Minshew.
Eventually, he was replaced by Desmond Ridder. At this point in the season, the Raiders will attempt to float through the remainder of the season without sinking.
A lot of tough decisions will need to be made in the off-season and the majority of it will be on the offensive side of the ball. The Raiders have scored 20 or fewer points in the last six of their nine games.
The team’s upcoming schedule will not be easy as they face the Dolphins, Chiefs, Buccaneers, and Falcons amongst other teams. One thing is certain, change is imminent within the Raiders organization after this season.
