2017 NASCAR Cup champion Martin Truex Jr. is set to retire from the sport at the end of the 2024 season. He has just one more race left in the season, the Phoenix finale and is coming into the weekend with a lot of hopes an expectation. The No:19 Camry driver is seeking a solid end to his full-time career, with a race win.
Martin Truex Jr. hasn’t been able to win a race so far this season and wants to end the streak on Sunday at Phoenix, just like Ross Chastain did last year. He is confident about his chances, with momentum on his side from pole win last week at Martinsville, owing to his past success at the track and the edge he always finds there.
I’d like to spoil the championship party. You’d love to win that thing. It’s happened before. We’ve been pretty good there. And hopefully, we can find something a little bit extra and go there.

He admitted that, going out with a would be amazing for him in the, though he can’t win the championship. But he wants have a moment of fun with his crew, probably the final time he will ever ger to epxerimce it.
Going out with a win would be the most amazing thing ever short of a championship, obviously, which is impossible. But just want to go have fun and enjoy the last race with the team.

Usually when the races are over Martin Truex Jr. is the first driver to get out of the track. But with the Phoenix event being his last race, he wants to celebrate it. He is looking forward to throwing an old school get together but hasn’t made the final decision on it.
I don’t know. We’ve been talking about it. Maybe throw an old-school little get-together at the coach after the race or something. I don’t know. We’ll see.

The NASCAR community might also be looking to give the veteran a proper send off with some special events. It will be interesting to see how the veteran would perform in the season finale and how he is going to honored by the community.
