There is a reason the home of the Dallas Cowboys, AT&T Stadium, is called ‘Jerry’s World.’ It is the culmination of his life’s effort toward making America’s team the most valuable franchise in the NFL. Despite his excellent marketing skills, Jerry Jones is often said to be blinded by the vanity that comes with being the owner and GM of this team.
AT&T Stadium has a glaring issue, one that has continued to bother the Dallas Cowboys and their opponents for a while. That issue is the glaring sunlight that blinds players during sunset. It has impacted Dak Prescott during the team’s 47-9 loss to the Lions and last night during their 6-34 loss to the Eagles. Wideout CeeDee Lamb was unable to score a touchdown pass despite being open because of the sunlight hitting his eyes.
Jerry Jones was asked after the game if he would take action to improve this situation. However, he took that question as an attack on his pride.
By the way, we know where the sun is going to be when we decide to flip the coin or not. We do know where the damn sun is going to be in our own stadium.
Jerry Jones told reporters
How about putting some curtains on there or installing retractable panels that can deflect or block the sunlight from the players? Turns out Jerry Jones is not a fan of making significant changes to things unless he is compelled to do so.

He was frustrated when the reporters suggested that curtains be put over these windows. His next response was equally scathing.
Well let’s tear the damn stadium down and build another one? Are you kidding me? Everybody has got the same thing. Every team that comes in here has the same issues. I’m saying, the world knows where the sun is. You get to know that almost a year in advance. Someone asked me about the sun. What about the sun? Where’s the moon?
Jerry Jones told reporters
Respectfully, considering the way Dallas has played this season, it would be better to break down the stadium and save the fans from being subjected to this misery.
Altering the stadium’s aesthetic appeal for a better shot at winning games is a reasonable bargain. When the team’s highest-paid wideout publicly admits that putting some curtains on would be helpful and not cost the team touchdowns, it is high time to make some changes as a good general manager would have.

The Dallas Cowboys do not practice at AT&T Stadium which puts them at a bigger disadvantage because the environment that they go to battle in is different. The sunlight is an issue when the team has afternoon kickoffs and has been a problem since 2009.
But just as the sun blinds his players on the field, apparently Jerry Jones’ vanity blinds him, and unfortunately, the Cowboys fanbase has to pay to watch their team get bullied on their home turf because of one man’s decisions.
