One of the women allegedly featured in the viral sex tapes involving the former director-general of Equatorial Guinea’s National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), Baltasar Ebang Engonga, Cristel Nchama has broken silence with a formal complaint.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) recalls that Engonga was arrested following the discovery of over 400 explicit videos involving him with high-profile women across the country.
The scandal emerged in the course of a fraud investigation against the 54-year-old Economist, which resulted in the search of his house and office on impromptu notice by ANIF officials who came across several CDs that later revealed his sexcapades with different married women.
The leaked recordings which were reportedly filmed in Engonga’s office, hotels, and even toilets, were said to have been recorded with the consent of the participants. However, the leak has caused significant public outcry and personal damage to those involved.
Real Equatorial Guinea reports that one of the women, identified as Cristel Nchama filed a complaint with the National Gendarmerie of Malabo stating that she was in a four-year relationship with Engonga and has felt deeply humiliated by the release of the videos.
Demanding a compensation, Nchama accused Equatorial Guinea’s financial crime chief of misleading her into trusting him and revealed that she initially resisted being filmed, believing that any recordings would be deleted.
“I am humiliated. It is my reputation, my honour. I want to know where these images came from and why he kept the images,” Cristel said.
The fallout from the scandal has been swift, with Engonga being dismissed from his position.
Additionally, the government has suspended all officials reportedly involved in sexual activities within ministry offices, signaling a crackdown on misconduct among public officials.
