East crafters fair spread Christmas cheer

The Crafters Fair Christmas market drew crowds from far and wide at Moreleta Church on Saturday as vendors showcased their handmade products.

Founded in 2009, it has become a favourite on Pretoria’s events calendar, attracting visitors from all walks of life.

Founder Liezel Fisher said this year’s market showcased an impressive array of handmade goods, including intricately crafted jerseys, jewellery and decorative items.

Fisher said the creators are mostly retired or semi-retired individuals who share a passion for crafting.

“Some of our crafters lost their jobs during Covid, so this market helps them raise much-needed funds,” she explained.

She said it’s wonderful to see people come together to support local talent.

“The fair’s diverse offerings catered to all tastes and ages, making it a fun and festive outing for families and friends.”
