Dancing With the Stars pro dancer Sasha Farber has been with the hit reality TV show since Season 13, when he joined as a troupe member. It wasn’t until Season 17 that Sasha was made a pro and took the dancefloor with his partner, Jersey Shore’s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.
Sasha has not yet won a mirrorball trophy, but it’s clear that the Russian-born dancer can move. In addition, he’s been making headlines for his amazing chemistry with his Season 33 partner, The Bachelorette’s Jenn Tran, and the two are constantly dodging romance rumors. Sasha Farber Has A Long History With DWTS Pro Emma Slater
Dancing With the Stars pros Sasha Farber and Emma Slater did not meet on the show, but they did meet on Brodway’s Burn The Floor in 2009. By 2011, it was confirmed that the pair were dating. It wasn’t until DWTS Season 17, that the show would introduce both Emma and Sasha as new pros.
After three years of dating, Sasha and Emma called it quits, but they continued to work together on DWTS. In an interview with Glamour in 2014, Emma spoke about working with her ex, calling Sasha her “best friend.”
“He’s just the best person. I don’t think we’re supposed to finish together. I think there are other people that might make us both individually happy, but I’m always going to be his best friend. I feel like his best friend right now.”
She added, “It has just happened in the way we have gone from a beautiful three-year relationship, which I love and cherish, to best friends.”
Emma also told Glamour that, despite their break-up, they were still living together. “He’s the only family I have in America, and we still love each other. For now, living together is just totally fine. It’s not going to be forever, but I was glad that he decided to go on tour with me. I only ever want the best for him, but I will be there because we’re going to be there for each other.”

Sasha Proposed To Emma During A Live Taping Of DWTS
Sasha and Emma’s break-up certainly saddened DWTS fans, but it didn’t last long. By 2015, the two were back together to give their relationship another shot.
The following year, Sasha proposed to Emma during a live taping of Dancing With the Stars. After a performance together, Sasha took Emma’s hands and said, “Babe, I wanted to do this for such a long, long time.” He then got down on one knee and asked Emma to marry him, with the dancer saying yes.
Sasha told Good Morning America that he had initially wanted to tell Emma so much more during his proposal, but his nerves got the best of him.
“I was really, really scared before it happened, because we had to do the dance. I had the ring in my pocket. I had so much I wanted to say and express and tell her, and I literally said not one word,” Sasha said. However, Emma thought it was perfect, including Sasha proposing on DWTS.
Emma Slater took home her first mirrorball trophy in Season 24. She was partnered with former NFL player Rashad Jennings.
Emma and Sasha wed in March 2018 with all of their DWTS pals and even former partners in attendance. Reminiscing about their years-long relationship with The Knot, Emma shared, “We were friends for two years before we even got together as a couple. We met at such a young age, I was 20 when I met him. We spent the last almost decade together.”
Sasha also shared, “I love everything about Emma. Just the way that we are together. Her morals, the way she treats me, the way she smiles, the way she looks at me … If I was to design my wife, it would be Emma.”

Sasha And Emma Separated In 2022
Sasha and Emma shocked DWTS fans when it was announced that they had ended their marriage. According to Us Weekly, the report about the couple splitting came that August, but Sasha and Emma had already been separated for months.
“It’s been a really difficult time since they really care about each other and have been together for so long,” the source told the outlet. The source also shared that Emma and Sasha would continue working together on DWTS.
That March, neither Emma nor Sasha acknowledged their fourth wedding anniversary on social media, which may have been a sign that the two were already separated. However, Emma did give her husband a birthday shout out that May that sounded more friendly than anything.

That November, the former married couple proved that they were on good terms when they celebrated Thanksgiving with other DWTS pros. In February 2023, Emma filed for divorce from Sasha.
Sasha And Jenn Tran Are Dodging Romance Rumors
Season 33 of DWTS paired Sasha and The Bachelorette’s Jenn Tran together right after the reality TV star filmed After the Final Rose in which she had to dreadfully relive her proposal to ex Devin Strader. Right from the start, Jenn and Sasha had impeccable chemistry both on and off the dance floor. In fact, fans believed that these two were more than dancing partners because of their flirty TikToks, which saw Sasha calling Jenn “babe” and hanging outside the show.
Both Jenn and Sasha have dodged dating rumors as they continued to dance week after week on Season 33. Fans really want to see these two together. However, they might just be having a slow-burn showmance, unlike pro Gleb Savchenko and Brooks Nader, whose over-the-top showmance might have been the reason they got eliminated.
During Disney night, the duo danced to The Little Mermaid’s “Kiss The Girl,” but instead of kissing Jenn on the mouth, Sasha kissed her forehead. Of course, that left viewers and even the show’s judges a little let down.
Judge Derek Hough playfully joked after their performance, “Is it weird for me to say that I ship this?” Host Julianne Hough then brought up the forehead kiss, telling Sasha, “A kiss on the forehead? Sasha, come on!” Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, both Sasha and Jenn defended their choice not to kiss on stage because it would have been too “weird” to do a “beautiful, classy rumba and then make out.”
So, it looks like fans will have to see if Jenn and Sasha take their showmance into the real world once DWTS Season 33 ends.
