Super Eagles interim manager, Augustine Eguavoen Sunday evening led the backroom staff of the Super Eagles to Abidjan ahead of a crucial 2025 AFCON qualifier against Benin.
Eguavoen is back in the country after a short medical leave to Belgium.
The foreign call-ups for the match will fly directly to the Ivorian capital city.
The players are expected to start arriving as from Monday. The team will commence training on Tuesday morning.
The Super Eagles will need at least a draw in Abidjan Thursday against home team Benin to qualify for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
Incidentally, when both teams clashed in a 2026 World Cup qualifier also in Abidjan in June, the Cheetahs of Benin led by former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr recorded a famous 2-1 win that has put Nigeria’s World Cup qualification in jeopardy.
